It's a melancholy mood day

Wow - As I sat here thinking of what to write about today, the word melancholy popped into my mind.  I thought that perhaps I should also look up the definition of it if I was going to use it properly. What I read has given me pause, for I am not feeling 'that'.

Melancholy:  suggestive or expressive of sadness or depression of mind or spirit.

In another definition I found a word I hadn't heard of before.  Irascibility.  What in the world is that?

Irascibility:  (this definition makes me laugh!! I know people like this!!)  Marked by hot temper and easily provoked anger.

Wow - I've given you two words to use today!  Remember when we thought we'd try to get smart and we would say we were going to learn a new word every day and use it frequently throughout the day?  Yeah, I never did that. Well, I may have tried it for one day.  But here I have given you two words - and even the definitions.

Can you see yourself telling your spouse "Your actions cause me to be irascible, and I shall act irascibility.  (Does that sentence even make sense?  Oh well, moving on....)

This morning I have Needles of Hope and will be stopping shortly to get ready for it.  My youngest called the other day and invited me out to lunch today so will be leaving early to meet with him.  This is a rare thing, and I am looking forward to it.  Still, I wonder what have I done or what am I going to be told.  You ever have one of those 'lunches' that are so rare that you have cause to wonder?  Heaven forbid they would just want to spend time with you, right?

Hubby and I have our own calendars.  I have one I keep here in my room (book form) and I write everything in it that is going on each day that happens I want to remember.  No biggie. It's mine.  I have a magnetic calendar on the refrigerator and on it I write things that hubby needs to be aware of that I'm doing, like when I have gym appointments, doctor appointments, Needles, lunches, etc.   Last night, as we were leaving to meet with friends for dinner, he started on me that I hadn't told him I was going to lunch with the youngest son today. I honestly do not remember for sure whether I did or not, but I defended myself and said I did tell him (as I usually do).  He got all over me about communication.  Now remember, he will go to 'my' calendar and write them on 'his' desk calendar so that he can know where I am at all times.  It didn't make it to his calendar, although it has been on mine for a few days. I wasn't hiding anything.  Finally I shut him up by telling him I was sorry if I didn't tell him, I thought I had, and it has been on my calendar for a few days.   Like, is this even a big deal?  He springs last minute breakfasts and lunches on me all the time with his friends - so what is the big deal whether or not I told him I was going to lunch with my son?  Instead of being happy I am having lunch with one of my children, I get reprimanded because I didn't tell him (to where he heard me and wrote it down).  Actually, I could have gone and he wouldn't have even known as I'm leaving Needles early to meet him, and I would be home about my usual time coming from Needles.  Plus, he tracks me on Life 360.  He always knows where I am.  Thinking about it, since my son called when he was at one of his breakfasts, I may have forgotten to verbally tell him.... but I did put it on the calendar, which he frequently looks at.

We went out to dinner last night with two couples that we are close friends with at the RV park. We had a great dinner at Black Bear Diner.  Hubby ordered the taco salad - and it was HUGE.  Even he couldn't eat it all and brought half of it home.  I got my usual bacon cheeseburger salad - and obviously ate too much of it, although I didn't eat it all.  Either that or it was the apple pie and ice cream we ate at our friend's house after playing games - I've gained almost two pounds from yesterday morning.  Sigh.  I know muscle weighs more than fat, but it is discouraging to see the scale go up and down - let alone my glucose and ketones.  Really weird this morning. I gained nearly two pounds, yesterday my glucose was like 119.  This morning it is 91.  My ketones, which Virta wants at like .5 or above for nutritional ketosis, has remained between .1 and .3 all week.  My coach and I had a discussion yesterday about it - I told him I had cancelled Factor and was back to cooking to where I knew what we were eating. So what do I do? I go out and eat a huge salad, then eat ice cream and apple pie.  I know I'm losing inches, which is good, but I'm bummed the scales aren't going down faster.

My little sister let me know she had hit 146 last week.  And then another time sent me a text that she had lost her butt.  She really never had one to begin with; I was endowed with that.  Maybe I should be grateful; at least I have a shape. Anyway, yesterday she let me know that she was now in size 8.  Good for her.  Happy for her.  I'll get down eventually; I'm grateful my size 12 pants and dresses are fitting me much better than they had been for awhile.  Do you ever get tired of my rambling posts?

And I must cut this short.... it is 8AM and I need to leave by 8:30AM; hubby has been in here 3 times.  And I slept until 6AM this morning (I even took a nap yesterday during the day as I was so tired) so I'm already running behind from the get go.

So I'm off here. Hope you have an amazing day and get out in this beautiful weather and do something fun with your family.

Blessings!
