It has been nice to get out of the house for a few days, but we both agreed this morning that we long for our own bed, our own space, our own home. These walls are starting to enclose on us, I think, and the largeness of the room has gotten smaller. Know what I mean? The only window is in the bedroom, and we spend the majority of our time out here in the 'front room'. Hubby sits at the desk, and I'm on the couch. I think we are both bored, actually.
We did eat breakfast here yesterday and we did drive up to the shops yesterday - actually, we drove up to Anthem to see what was still up there. Not much. We did stop in the Chocolate Factory and bought 3 pieces of chocolate that was overpriced and cost us about $14. But we are on vacation so we did it. Grabbed some pretzels from Auntie Anne or whatever it is, and a soda; had it for lunch. Headed back towards the hotel. We did go work out in the gym downstairs yesterday. I hit my right ring finger with the weights as I was putting them back it is it tender and blue this morning. It was boring there too. I told hubby that I missed my trainer. LOL Dare I tell her that next week?
Dinner last night was overpriced but we ate downstairs. Hubby had 4 street tacos and I had a salad. Both were good, but if I had realized how much we were spending, I think we would have asked at the main desk what is nearby to eat at. Hubby wants to go to Bosa Donuts this morning for breakfast. I'm thinking of stalling him until late morning and us just pack up the car and head home. We can still go to Bosa Donuts across the way for 'breakfast', but I'm ready to go home, and I think he is as well. We had talked about doing an airbnb in town next year, but I think we will just stay home. We can sit at home as well as in someone else's house, right? Our lives have become so boring.
I was awake at 2:15AM this morning and didn't start dozing again until about 4:30AM. I did some praying, as God brought people to mind. I rewound the Chicago Fire program we watched on TV in the afternoon (yeah, the TV came on, like I said, it was getting boring just being together) and watched pieces of it in my mind. And that's why I don't like to watch intense movies; I repay the stressful parts. This one was when someone blew up the hospital and the niece of a police officer from Chicago PD had her liver crushed and they were trying to save her............ yeah... I try to avoid those. They hold your interest, but then I wake up and think about them.
I ended up running out of yarn yesterday. And since I only brought a couple skeins, and didn't find a Michaels' the other day, I had to revert to the dish cloth that I make while hubby is driving. LOL I find that I can keep a small cotton skein with my small knitting needles in his car for when he is driving I can keep my eyes on what I'm doing and not on his driving. Anyway, got that out of the car last night so that I'd have 'something to do' besides read. I guess I got 5-6 rows done before I quit on it. I have plenty of yarn at home but I have asked hubby to stop at Michael's at DV on the way home to see what selection they have. The one by us didn't have much. But I may also suggest we just go on home.
2 Corinthians 10:17-18- (NKJV): But "he who glories, let him glory in the Lord." For not he who commends himself is approved but whom the Lord commends.
What do you think that verse means? I see it as 'don't think so much about yourself and how good and wonderful and 'blessed' you are, don't build yourself up. Only God can approve you, people can not. We are nothing compared to the glory of the Lord. He is everything. He deserves everything. He gets all the glory, all the honor, and all the praise. We are but dust compared to him.
With my male boss also out of the office Thursday and Friday, I see I only have about 255 emails to go through. As I have mentioned before, the majority are not mine, but those that I support. I may jump on later today and clean them up so I see what I need to do on Monday. I know I have timecards on Monday, and I did see 5 invoices that I need to process and get in the system as well. Then again, I may just wait until Monday. After all, I am on vacation, right?
No more trips planned for the year. Hubby's birthday and mine are both over, our anniversary is over, so the next 'holiday' is Labor Day, which is the 1st Monday in September. This year it is September 2nd. I can remember when (way back when), school would always start the day after Labor Day. Now it starts in August. Of course the one Labor Day that I remember the most is when my oldest son was born - only that Labor day was September 6. I remember that day well.
Think I will jump off here and get in the shower and start packing up the suitcase. It's only 6:40AM but we've been up for awhile. Yep. Still went to bed at 8:30PM and up around 4PM; this morning I think it was closer to 5AM. Body can only need so much sleep. I'm ready to go home. I'm ready for my own bed.
Blessings!
