Yesterday we took Marley to the vet for a well check-up and more shots. She has to get a benadryl shot before she gets her parvo or whatever it is they get, for the first one made her sick. Well, we think it did. Rather than say it was 'car sickness', we'd rather not have any 'sickness' at all. We thought, like the last time she got the shots, she would lay down and sleep most of the afternoon. NOT. It slowed her down, but not enough to give us a break.
She goes to 'bed' about 8PM and since we removed the divider in her crate, she has been sleeping straight through to 6AM when we get up - thank you, Jesus! 4:30 - 5:00AM was really early to get up when she would wake us - but we didn't want to have to clean out the crate. Now she 'holds it' until morning. I know, probably TMI. Even about a dog. I can't wait until we can truly trust her all and just leave the crate open for her to come and go as she pleases. But, she would still have to wake us up to let her out - but at least she could move about. Then again, if we get up and out of the darkness something licks our legs, we'd probably jump ten feet!
But, she is a good dog and we both enjoy her. It will be at least another 4-6 weeks before I take her out walking. The vet says she has to have her rabies shot and then wait two weeks before we can take her out. You can tell she really wants to get out and run good, but we both are held back. For me it is the heat. I do get on the treadmill though. I'd much rather go walking with Marley - and will, in time.
As I looked at the calendar this morning I realized how fast this year has gone. At the beginning of the year I was focused on May 5t6h - the Mini-Marathon we walked in. Now here it is July. I'm not working yet, but am sending out resumes. I know they have to have time to review and all, but it sure is hard to wait and see if they will even call. Patience is not one of my virtues. So I keep looking and keep applying. I know something will turn up for me soon. Once I get a job, then my priorities will change and I will get my scheduled ironed out again. For now, it is hit and miss - if someone calls and wants to get together - great. If not, I'll stay home and read or something. I have projects to do - I just need to get focused.
I look out the window at our blue water pool and think how inviting it looks - and then I look at the hot sun and the fact there is no shade in our back yard and decide that perhaps I do not want to get in the pool. I can burn pretty good if I'm not careful. I mentioned to Tom the other day we ought to buy a tree and plant in the back yard to get some shade. We do have an orange tree in the corner, but it doesn't give off much shade. Our yard is north/south, so it gets the full brunt of the sun all day. In the mornings there is a little shade, but it quickly disappears. Need to figure out how to get more. It's boring staying in the house all day because of the heat.
And now I'm starting to ramble so let's see if I can figure out a way to close this off.
Ecclesiastes 3 - NIV - A Time for Everything
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
9 What do workers gain from their toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.
15 Whatever is has already been,
and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account.
and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account.
16 And I saw something else under the sun:
In the place of judgment—wickedness was there,
in the place of justice—wickedness was there.
in the place of justice—wickedness was there.
17 I said to myself,
“God will bring into judgment
both the righteous and the wicked,
for there will be a time for every activity,
a time to judge every deed.”
both the righteous and the wicked,
for there will be a time for every activity,
a time to judge every deed.”
18 I also said to myself, “As for human beings, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. 19 Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”
22 So I saw that there is nothing better for people than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?
There is a time for everything - what are you doing with your time?
Blessings!

Wondered when you'd post again... lol.
I put in for a job at Toys R Us the other day - to assemble bikes, misc toys, furniture, etc for customers. Haven't heard back yet though.... It'd be right up my alley of things to do....
