Yeah, its been this girl. I haven't gotten much done this morning and my typing is running my letters all together. I want to go back to sleep yet again. And I blame it on the cold medication. I skipped the musinex because I know it makes me fall back to sleep - so last night I took the robitusin with honey and yep- it does the same thing. I may have to get another nap in this morning, if I can, just to get the tiredness out of my system. Hey- it's a good excuse, right? But, I didn't cough during the night - which is the purpose, right?
Yesterday was not much of a rest day, although I did get a short nap in. We went to church - great message! - and towards the end of the service I got a chuckle. It was about 10:30am and my friend comes rushing in and sits down in front of us. Pastor Patrick is just trying to finish his message up. After about 5 minutes, my friend turns around and whispers - I forgot the 2nd service starts at 11AM; I thought it started at 10:30AM and I was late. Obviously God wants me to hear this ending twice! LOL
After church, we took another friend out to lunch for her birthday. Single gal, no one had celebrated with her - and you know how I am about birthdays! We had a nice lunch - albeit that hubby and I did get the vegetable plate at Cheddars. Yep, the 21 day fast started yesterday. We came home after and I took a short nap while hubby watched TV with his headset on (and probably slept too).
I was undecided about going to the Bible study this friend was leading. I would like to get in with another group, but meeting new people, etc. I wasn't sure I wanted to do that. But I went. I think God wanted me to go too. Why? Hubby was in a possessive and fussy mood yesterday. More so than usual. I sat on the couch with my computer, meaning to write in my blog yesterday and answer emails and kept being questioned 'what are you doing'? 'Who are you writing to?' I finally did a short blog and a short email and turned it off and took a nap. Then when I woke up - 'are you going to the Bible study?' 'I know it's in a bad neighborhood and I'd not comfortable with you going by yourself.' (it isn't - it is north of Olive in Sun City @ 107th) 'did you mention that I probably would not go?' (yes, he has two other Bible studies, he doesn't need to go too) 'and on and on it went. I decided I was going, whether I really wanted to go or not. I was not going to deal with all the questions all evening.
So I went to the Bible study and met some new friends and had a nice time. It's an interesting group of people. Ages range from probably in late 60's to 89 for about 10 people. They have a dinner first (last night was turkey breast, dressing, brown gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli salad, and a scrumptious looking dessert. Sigh. I drank my water. And that was ok. Bible study was interesting. I will probably go back because I need a break from hubby! My friend, who is the youngest, is leading it. And, once I'm off the fast, I can eat food others have prepared. I did tell hubby about the food.... and he commented that he had really wanted us to do a group study together.... but I told him they understood he was already in two studies so didn't need a third. :-) Want to place any bets that he may decide to attend? Maybe - maybe not. Will see.
Ok - my 'diary' report is done... I've slept away my morning after I read my Bible and I need to finish a couple things I like to do. It's about time to start work; I need to clear my boss' calendar for the next three days - her father did pass away yesterday morning and she is taking the time off to process and get things completed. Appreciate your prayers for her and her brothers.
I'll skip the medication tonight - maybe I can get back on track tomorrow with thinking ... then again... my thinking.... well...
I want to share about a webinar I saw last week (need to check and make sure I haven't shared it yet! and I want to share some about the message yesterday - it was good! But, time is now slipping away from me and I need to get to 'work'.
Have a blessed day!
