We did our quiet time yesterday. As we got dressed to go downstairs for breakfast, hubby realized that he didn't have his wallet. We started searching around the room, under furniture, around our books, etc. We went on downstairs for breakfast. After breakfast, hubby went outside to check inside his car - did he leave it there? Nope. Still unable to find it, we retraced steps of when he last remembered having it and where have we been that he would have used it, etc. All these thoughts going through our minds, checking the car (again and again) and checking drawers and things in here. Nothing. We finally decided to do the drive back home (thank goodness it was only 20 minutes or so) and see if he had left it on the table. Nope. We checked all through the house. Could not find it anywhere. Checked my car as we had gone to Sonic the day before, but I had paid, so he hadn't gotten his wallet out. Checked his car again. Still could not find it. He was trying to remember what all he had in his wallet that would need to be replaced if he couldn't find it.
Decided that perhaps I should drive back to the hotel in my car in case something happened and he didn't have his drivers license. We came back to the room to bring some bottled water up that I had brought from home, then decided to go on to the shops. We just did a couple; The World Market and Barnes and Noble. We both were distracted by the loss of his wallet so shopping wasn't a big deal. Oh, he had about $75 in it too, which for us, is a lot of money.
Found I have a new addiction. LOL Maple Creme Cookies. Found them at the World Market. Really good. Addictive. I ate half the box by myself last night. GOT.TO.QUIT.EATING.THEM!! LOL So good. We were still full from breakfast (ate downstairs yesterday and it was good, personally prepared for us. Hubby had a 3 egg omelet with bacon and toast; I had 2 eggs scrambled, bacon, and potatoes and toast. Not bad. Anyway.... we were still full, then after snacking on cookies (and salt & vinegar potato chips) we weren't hungry for a lunch. We sat and read for a bit and mentally I was still thinking about where in the world could that wallet be.... as I'm sure he was. Then I had a picture pop up in my mind.
Hubby has this compartment behind the screen in his car. He keeps this travel log in there (to track mileage for medical/ministry, etc. They are tax deductible). I saw the screen open in my mind - so I turned to hubby and asked him if he had checked that compartment in his car. No, he hadn't. And I hadn't thought of it either. I asked if he wanted to go back to the house - but he said no; we don't know it is there, and I had my car here, so let's just not. Ok. But the more we talked about it, the more we thought about it.... we decided to do the run back home again. And sure enough. He checked the compartment and there was his wallet. In his car. Behind the screen. He rarely puts it there and didn't remember doing so. But we were both relieved that he found it. So I 'let' him drive his car back up to the hotel (and set outside) and I left mine at home in the garage.
That was our yesterday. Oh - after we left the house we decided to stop and eat on the way back to the hotel. We stopped at Coco's - and found out that Sunday they are closing for good. We knew that business has been down for years.... but Kristie, our waitress, told us that Sunday (or Monday) was the very last day they would be open. We don't go there often, but the past few times our server had been Kristie. She didn't know what she was going to do; she would be there six years come October. They did have good cheeseburgers. And good cobb salads.
After I finish this I will get dressed and we will head down for breakfast. Bosa Donuts is right in front of us. Not sure where we will go for breakfast. Our server yesterday was very friendly and helpful and we liked her. May go down there again. I told hubby he could get the buffet ($15.95) cause he does love fruit for breakfast along with his other food. Or we both may get it. Not that I think I could eat near as much as hubby does. Actually, I think a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of coffee may be all I get. Fiber, ya know. LOL
We may take a trip back up to the shops today since we don't have things distracting us. I still have my Michaels' gift card and a Visa gift card that I received for my birthday. I went to the Michael's near home and they didn't have anything I wanted. They yarn supply was in need of replenishing. Maybe I can get hubby to go to this one and we can go through it. Maybe I can find the yarn I want there. At least we aren't staying in the room all day. Ok, so we have only been here one day thus far. Seems like a lot longer!

That kind of goes along with what I shared yesterday, huh! We need to let go of the world in us, get it out of us, and let the holiness of God fill us.
Yesterday was a good day. Today is my little sister's 69th birthday. When did she get so old? The USPS is a trip. I shipped a package off on Monday. I finished up the package and shipped another on Tuesday. The first box, in a regular cardboard box, was shipped to Chicago, then to Miami, then back to Chicago, before being shipped to Indianapolis. Since Monday - that box has had a long trip and was to have arrived yesterday. It did not. I have received notification that it will arrive today. The second box I shipped (in a USPS postal box) was to arrive today. It went from here to Indianapolis and was delivered yesterday. I'm praying the first regular cardboard box makes it in good condition. My sister used a regular cardboard box to ship my gift in and it looked like someone had stepped on the corner of it. Luckily nothing in it was breakable. Hoping my box to her makes it in one piece. Lesson learned. 1) ship only in USPS boxes as they arrive in good condition and arrive timely.
Hubby is getting dressed and is about ready for breakfast. Guess that I should start moving about as well. Hope you have a blessed day!
