I got my $2

that hubby had challenged me with in finding Olive Garden the other day.  And, yes, I kept it.  He shouldn't make a bet if he wasn't willing to pay it - right?

I have a feeling this is going to be a somewhat long day.  I was awakened about 2:15-2:30AM with water slamming onto the ground right outside our window.  At first thought I hoped it was rain, but the way it sounded, I doubted it.  I didn't get up to look, but after ten minutes and my head pounding from being awakened out of a sound sleep, I got up and came in here.  I tried to go back to sleep, but could not.  Hubby finally got up at 5:30AM and brought my coffee to me, apologizing for oversleeping.  I will tell him about the broken sprinkler head once I become a bit more alert and it becomes light outside so that we can see if I was right - or wrong.

I also woke up with a part of my lip swollen, and it's like a pimple with a head on it.  Like, where did that come from?  Did I eat something last night that I am allergic to and this is the result?  I put some carmex on it so am hoping it will go away. But it does have a little white head on it and is really weird looking. Did I get bit by a spider during the night?  Scary thought, isn't it?  I'm still dealing with bug bites on my leg!  Although they have nearly faded into the skin now - from the middle of October until the middle of March is a long time for them to fade.  And I still get pin pricks from that area. Yes, I finally made another appointment with the dermatologist, although since they are finally fading, what is he going to do?  Tell me it is all in my head?

I think I am starting to lose my mind.  I had an 'old' small portable DVD player, and wanted one with a bigger screen.  I have these videos in the Bible study I wanted to watch and we have other videos that we'd like to see as well.  I purchased another one, a bit bigger and more study.  I thought I'd be nice and send the small DVD player down to my sister so that she could watch the Bible study videos on it privately, if she wanted to.  Yesterday 'we' realized I didn't send the remote with it.  (I DID remember the cord!)  Her husband does fix mechanical things so I thought it she had any problems with it, he could fix it.  Anyway, she can manually turn the DVD to 'on', but I do need to find that remote.  Where I thought it would be, it is not.  Sigh.

So, I will just go ahead and tell you this.  It's part of me losing my mind.  The smartwatch that I had given my sister a few months ago quit working.  I have been in contact with Spade & Co and told them - and they very nicely told me they only have a 30 day guarantee.  That really surprised me as they are the #1 fitness watch right now, from all that I have read.  This watch was purchased last July.  Not even a year, and it won't charge. (Then again, my sister seems to have a problem with charging things; her kindle I gave her a few years ago wouldn't charge so she sent it back to me and for a gift, I bought her another. I plugged it in and it charged just like it should. Will the same thing happen with the watch? Who knows) The person I have been corresponding with at Spade & Co has been very professional, kind, and let me know that with the 30 day guarantee, there was nothing they could do.  But, in the last email I got today she said that she could give me a discount on my next purchase.  I politely declined and thanked her.  I'm not buying another one.  Anyway - one with my story.  I decided to mail my new smartwatch 4 to my sister to replace the one I had given her that quit.  I had only been wearing it a few days and was still trying to figure it out.  So I took it off, boxed it in the original box, and headed to the post office early yesterday morning.  I couldn't find a parking spot, so came back home.  Late afternoon I took another break and headed back to the post office.  Found a parking spot and I was about #10 in the line.  Don't laugh.  Although I had disconnected the watch from my phone, removed the app, etc., I hadn't turned the watch off.  I'm standing there holding this box and it vibrates because a message had come through. I debated... if I send it and someone is holding it and it vibrates, they will tear that box apart thinking it is something about ready to go off.  Then it dawned totally on me that not only did I NOT turn the watch off, I also forgot the charging cord so that it could be charged once it arrived.  I turned and walked out of the post office and returned home.  I have now turned the watch off totally. I have put the charging cord with it.  But before I send it off this time, I really want to find that remote for the DVD player and send it as well.  Am I just losing it?  Mental exhaustion, perhaps?

I am really wanting to take a few days off work and get away and do nothing.  Sleep as much as I want to; rest, walk, read, crochet, etc.  But then I think, hubby and I are alone in the house. Why would I pay to go to some place and be alone there?  Doesn't make sense, does it?  But then, I think it is more the change of scenery. Maybe that is what I am needing.  But, right now we also need to work on our tax info - I think it is next week we see our CPA. I have gotten started on my numbers, but no where near finished. Thursday my two main bosses will be off so I will have plenty of time to devote to pulling them together.  Thought about taking the day off to work on it, but why? I can watch the computer and answer emails while I'm totaling numbers.

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIV):  Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

I'm sitting here re-reading the scripture and letting it soak in.  Our God is so faithful, that the covenant of loving for us made years ago - is still relevant now to those of us who love Him and keep His commandments.  For a thousand generations He will love us as we follow Him.  Because generations before us, our ancestors followed Him, and that covenant of love is being passed down to us.

I can still remember my granny, mother's mama, sitting on the porch reading her Bible.  I can remember my grandma and grandpa, my dad's parents, talking about Jesus and going to church.  I can picture in my mind very little about my dad, other than he was a preacher.  But he was also a worship leader.  Perhaps that is where I got my love for worship.  He was taken way too soon, as far as I am concerned. I still question God as to why.  How would my life have turned out had he lived?  I am sure that it would not be like it was!  Anyway - their love of God was passed on down the generations, and I'm sure their ancestors followed God as well.

God loves each one of us and He alone is faithful.  When we follow Him and keep His commandments, which really are to protect us, we will always pass on the covenant of love He has for our generations that follow.  Goodness! I have great grandchildren now - four generations right here.  I pray my love for Jesus will continue to flow down the line.

Well, it's about that time again so guess I will get off here and get dressed.  Got an errand to run this morning, and still need to work, and to find that silly remote, so that I can get this package sent to my sister.  Hope that you have an amazing day!

Blessings!
