Yesterday it was the dermatologist I got to see. He froze a couple spots that I asked him to take care of. That freezing stuff stings, if you've never had it done! I had a spot come up on my hip recently and he looked at it and said it was not really anything, but it could continue to grow - or he could freeze it off. Well, duh. Freeze it off, I said! I don't want a mole 'growing' on me! He froze a skin tag that was 'out there', and then I asked him about a rash I get on my shoulder once in awhile. His response was interesting. He said I have arthritis in my neck (I do?) and the rash is a reaction to it. HUH? Yes, occasionally I do get pain in my neck and I put voltaren on it to ease the pain. But a rash? And I had him look at a 'tag' I felt on my neck... he said he didn't really like the way that one looked - so took a biopsy of it. Now that shot hurt worse than the freezing did! I will hear in a few days how that turns out. I was in and out of the office in 10-15 minutes.
The only medical stuff I have left is a return mammogram and ultrasound. I often have to have a repeat - it's a 'pain' (literally!) but it makes them happy. It's next week and then I'm done for the year - well, except for dentist I think in December. Have a bad headache this morning - not sure where it is coming from as I didn't get up with it.
Watched Perry Stone at Free Chapel last night - he changed his message somewhat - and I must have 'lost' him somewhere for I fell asleep. (It WAS a busy day as my male boss was back) for a few minutes a couple times. At least I didn't snore for hubby didn't know. He wants to watch him again tonight so cancelled his time with his friend, but I told him I wasn't cancelling. My daughter is still coming up and we will go in to the kitchen to work on our projects. Tomorrow night I can't watch as I have my training at 4:30PM (the program starts at 4PM) so Thursday night I may be watching both that I miss. I want to see them, but not enough to change my life around. I can watch later, thanks to modern technology. We did a quick run down to Arby's for something to eat. Heaven forbid that hubby would think to go before it came on. (actually, he slept about an hour before it came on) Maybe I'll order chicken tonight from KFC - $10 bucket chicken day - with no sides. Sides are extra. He can pick it up while I finish up work. Will see, anyway. Maybe I'll make potato soup - I need to use up some potatoes.
Hubby was boasting he didn't have anything going on today - until he reviewed his calendar. He has a 2:15PM with his heart doctor. That put him in a grumpy mood. Speaking of grumpy, he comes in here this morning with my coffee and says, "I hope I didn't keep you awake last night." I looked at him and said 'No'. (I was really tired and went to bed before he did, right after we got home from Arby's) and slept sound. He then states "I couldn't get to sleep for an hour and fifteen minutes and then I woke up every hour." And he just stood there and looked at me. What was I supposed to say? I didn't say anything so he stomped out of the room. He gets mad at me if I say something - and even when I don't! But at least if I don't say anything, it isn't the 'wrong' thing, right? LOL Maybe that is why my head hurts? Coffee caffeine isn't helping.
Proverbs 29:11 Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.
I see that in a lot of couples, don't you? The husband generally - as a rule - is the one who is quick to 'go off' on a topic, or on someone. The wife is the one who seems to be generally calm and quiet and calms down the situation. Do you find that true as well? In thinking about hubby and I, most know that he has a hot temper. He can be a bully, and it comes out frequently. Not that I'm trying to label him, but when he wants something done his way, he will push on it. Sometimes it is good, don't get me wrong. We were out with a couple the other night and he pressed on them the importance of teaching children about Jesus. The couple defended themselves, then promptly got up to leave. Hubby was being bold to tell them they need to teach children about Jesus. They didn't want him telling them what to do. I don't have that kind of boldness. Hubby and I talked about it later. I didn't tell him I thought they were offended, but I told him that people watch people who claim they are Christians to see how they act - and react. The example is what they are wanting. And, if what they see isn't what you are speaking, they want nothing of it. We've seen that for years. I'm just as guilty - Lord knows that I am not perfect by any means, nor do I pretend to be.
But I love Jesus and I want to be completely His. I have friends who see 'that side' of me always - but it is family and close friends who see who the 'real me' is. My friend at work who says I am her mentor as she can ask me a question and I give her a biblical answer (or try to), and when she does that, she causes me to reflect on my life and what I need to change in me. I can't change hubby (I have tried for years - it just doesn't work!) so I need to work on me. I'm still not perfect, but I am forgiven.
I was able to get in touch with my youngest granddaughter yesterday and we chatted about my weird dream. I was glad to hear she was doing much better. We made plans to get together in about 6-7 weeks (wow, Christmas is almost upon us!!) to bake cookies for Christmas. She hasn't been over to bake for several years. It will be good to have her and her son with me to bake special memories. You know how much that means to me. It is one memory I have been trying to keep going since my oldest granddaughter was 2 years old. And now I get to bake with her daughter as well. My 'middle' granddaughter and her daughter come over to bake too. Last year she came when my oldest granddaughter came so that the little ones cold bake together. That was so much fun. Hubby wasn't real nice, but I'm hoping he will 'get the message' to remain quiet while they are here. After all, the little ones are children, and children make noise and run. Right? And he wonders why the grandchildren don't like to visit. Nor the children. sigh. Another topic for another day, right?
I have come to the conclusion that I have torn my left bicep from working out last Thursday. I think it will be ok. It's still swollen and red, but the pain is gone. (Thank you, Jesus. Perry Stone had us put our hands on where we had pain or were sick, and he prayed over the congregation. I put my hand on my bicep - and the pain disappeared). I did ask my dermatologist about it; he said to take advil for the inflammation and ice it once in a while. I knew it wasn't his area of expertise, but my skin was swollen and red so I felt 'justified' in commenting on it to him. Who would have thought that 10 pound weights, six sets of bicep curls, with six seconds rest in between, would cause me to have a popeye muscle in my left bicep? I text'd my trainer last night and told her no bicep workouts for about a month or more; need to rest this one and get it back to normal. I got muscles and I don't have to flex to show them! LOL The swelling is going down, I'm not in pain, but my bicep and upper arm is still a bright shade of pink. Pink is one of my favorite colors..... just saying. It looks good on me. LOL
I didn't want to get up this morning; I'm still pretty tired. I'm beginning to wonder what is causing me to be so tired these past few weeks. It could be my age and work, I know, but this is why I work out and try to stay somewhat active. Hubby, on the other hand, is content to sit in his chair. I need to make myself get on the treadmill at least - but I'm getting lazy and don't do it. But I should. I just don't like dealing with comments and words. And I'll leave that there. And I need to get off here. Probably should get something for my headache. Will need to start work soon.
Hope that you have an amazing day - forgive my ramblings - I have a headache, remember? Who can think when they have a headache? Pray for those who are in Hurricane Milton's path. I still believe that God can stop it before it hits - and I heard that it has lessened in strength a little - from a 5 to a 4 - but I want it down to a 1. Lord, hear our prayers for the people of Florida!!
Blessings!
