Yesterday was a not so good day....

Hubby did something without asking and used my debit card for his personal 'shopping'.... and then told me I had to take things back because he got the wrong stuff, in order to get my money back.  There is a bit more to the story that I'm not going to share, it just isn't necessary.  I realize most couples do not have separate accounts; I have to as I can't trust all the bills to be paid timely - my bills.  I like paying all my bills when I get paid.  He would wait (years ago) to pay on the date due, or mail the check the day before, and only the minimum payment.  I choose to pay it off so that I don't have to pay interest.  Plus it keeps my credit score high.  Anyway, I was furious about that... and then things at work were chaotic at best.  Numerous meetings to schedule, finding dates for 2023 board meetings ... only to find the board has 'splattered' and some have resigned (not the big board, just the new one we formed earlier this year) and when I talked with my boss as to whom I should send the meeting dates to - even he didn't know.  So I just sent to him and the two big bosses that would be attending.  It was just one of those crazy, chaotic days.  I sure hope I don't get any more of those for awhile!  It was an exhausting day.

Talked to my little brother yesterday and he is thinking of doing another road trip to the northwest and then work his way southwest.  His wife was to have leg surgery but the doctor says it looks like it is healing now - although three of the screws have broken - and put off any surgery until December.  So a trip is in the thought process right now - it would be nice if he made it out here for a few days.  He said he wants to see the Grand Canyon again and also go back to Tombstone.

My son got his book and cookies... at least I received his thank you in my blog yesterday.  Glad he got them and I am hoping the sugar free cookies tasted ok.  And, I hope he likes the book!  I need to order another copy as I want to give one to my boss for her birthday too - and I will see her September 28th for breakfast.  She has surgery the next day on her foot so will out 'out of office' for a week or so and wants to get some reading done.

Did you know that it is ok to be angry?  It is - but it is how you deal with that anger that will make it a sin to be angry.  I was pretty angry yesterday.... but God made me hold my tongue and not say the things it wanted to say.  I wanted to verbally destroy someone.  Why didn't I?  Because I knew I shouldn't.  So I spent several minutes throughout the day just asking God to help me get through it and not respond the way I really wanted to... and He did answer me.  I didn't say a word... oh how I wanted to though!  Even now I don't think hubby has a clue how close he came to getting an earful.  He thinks he did nothing wrong.  I can only mark it up to self-centered ownership of someone not in their right mind.

Psalm 4:4 (NKJV):  "Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.  Selah.

Did I lay awake last night and think about my anger?  No.  I went to sleep.  I had already given up on my anger for I knew it wasn't going to accomplish anything.  If I brought it up, it would erupt in a thunderous, wordy, and hate-filled discussion.  You know what?  It isn't worth it.  Sometimes it is better to just let things go and move on. I do that frequently, I'm afraid.  I jokingly told my little brother - "if I stroke out, press charges cause he caused it!"

Which reminds me... my little brother said he told our nephew we all believe he poisoned his mother and killed her.  His comment back was "well if they think that, they can shove it down their throats."  Makes a lot of sense, doesn't it.  My brother also told him that he has probably shoved that part way back in his mind that he can't even remember what he did.  The story was told again by the nephew of what happened, and again the story was changed from what we were told originally.  We will never know what really happened.  But we also know our sister would not kill herself with her hair and nails the mess they were.  She had pride, and she would not have gone that way.  The case will remain open, the detective says, until we get a recorded confession.  The nephew isn't about to confess.  I can see him doing it... and yet... how can anyone do that to their mother?  To anyone, for that matter.  Enough said. I still miss my big sister, and struggle with her being gone.

I'm out of things to say this morning, can you even imagine that?  I know I'm really mentally tired; perhaps that is it.  I feel drained and so very tired.  Part of it is the medication - yep, it's Fosamax day and I remembered to take it first thing this morning.  Sure hope it helps my bones.  Of course exercise would too.  Sigh.  I go for the Dexascan (bone density test) on Friday and we'll see if it has been helping.  I do feel that if I can just get that 1% going each day, I will feel more energetic.  But when my heart has been broken over so many things the past few years... it does take its toll on the heart, the mind, the strength.  So I continue to pray for so many things.

Think I'm just going to sit here awhile and close my eyes.  I have a little bit before I have to turn the work computer on.  Think I will crawl up into my Abba's lap and lay my head on His bosom and just rest.  Those are some of my favorite times, for He restores and refreshes my soul.   And He reminds me how much I am dearly loved by Him.

Some days that is all I need.

Blessings!
