It was a busy day yesterday, but I was still able to get some things completed. This is a total surprise - I left about 11AM-ish to head over to the Imaging place. I didn't need an appointment for the chest x-ray, but I did need to get the mammogram scheduled. I prayed as I went down, "Lord, please help me to be able to get in and out quickly." Simple, right? He answered.
I walked in, and only one person was int he lobby. I stopped where I was to for the 'line' that was non-existent, and within 30 seconds I was told to come up to the desk. I showed the physician orders I had with me and explained I needed the chest x-ray and to schedule the mammogram. As if she couldn't read the orders and needed me to decipher for her. LOL She handled the appointment first - and told me that I could have it on September 29th. I was thinking I had the last one in October, but that was when I went back for the ultrasound. So we scheduled it first thing on September 29th and got it out of the way. She did some more paperwork and then told me to pay $39 for the chest x-ray. I wasn't going to argue that it was a well check-up and it doesn't cost me anything; I paid it for in about six months they will reimburse me. It was just easier. She told me to go sit down and I'd be called.
I had taken my crochet, for one never knows how long one will end up waiting. I pulled out my yarn - and I was called back. Two pictures later, I was sent on my way. I was in and out and probably less than 15-20 minutes. I like those types of appointments. Done for this physical.
I came home and remembered to check my Sonora Quest labs - and they aren't too bad. There were a couple in the 'red' zone, but I read what that was about (you know with all the MCT and RCW and all those things (which I still don't understand) what had shown up red I THINK is because I drink a lot of water during the day. That's what I surmised, anyway. I'll find out next week if I'm told not to drink 80-120 ounces of water a day. I like water; what can I say? Yes, I do drink soda, but rarely. It's just easier to sip water throughout the day. I wondered if adding LMNT to my water when I work out would make a difference on my sodium, but it didn't.
And, talking about medical, hubby isn't doing well. It's been a couple weeks he has had this nagging nausea that comes and goes, and occasional pain in his back. Yesterday it was bad enough I insisted he call Dr. Mark. They worked him in yesterday. THAT's what I like about Dr. Mark, if it is urgent, he gets you in. Hubby drove himself down there but said that he had to stop walking about halfway to the door as the pain was so bad in his back. He finally made it and one look at his face, Lily, Dr. Mark's assistant, told him to sit down immediately. He got called back and he txt'd me that his BP was 130/20. Now did he mean 130/200 or 130/120? I have no idea. And by the time he got back home, he didn't remember. He was there an hour and a half before he headed back home, so I imagine the BP was high from the pain - and Dr. Mark has made him stay before when his BP was high. His BP is usually 110/70 so that is why the concern. He stopped to pick up some prescriptions on the way home and started on them last night. He was going to sleep in his chair last night so that I could sleep, but he did come to bed after I did - and yes, kept me awake most of the night tossing and turning. I've been up about 2 hours and I hear him just now getting up. He will peek in to see if I have my coffee yet (I don't) and will bring me some, I'm sure.
Yesterday was a busy day at work and today may very well be another one. And that's ok. That's what I'm supposed to do, right? Be busy? They pay me to be busy. I'm actually fortunate I am in this line of work. By the middle of the month, as I heard in a meeting yesterday, a number of people will know they are laid off by the end of the month. Only one person hasn't been told yet as they are out of the country on vacation. Yeah, losing your job when you come back is kind of hard to hear, ya think? But it is necessary to gain stability in the marketplace. They can also apply for positions in other parts of the company. It's our division that we need to work on. My position doesn't warrant layoffs - especially since I support two of the executives and their people. I have told my boss that if it ever comes down to it, it's ok. We will survive and I can find a part time job if I need to. Not that I asked for it - for the executives DO need me, right?
Titus 2:11-14 (NKJV): For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness, and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
God's grace. I don't know about you, but I cannot live without it - every.single.day. It's one thing to be forgiven of something, (mercy) but to be given freedom for something you did do (grace) - it's always better. I know I didn't really explain that right and I don't have time to do it now. I should just erase it. But the bottom line is - without God's mercy, and His grace - we are doomed. We cannot survive. Every single day His grace and mercy sustain us - he doesn't give us what we deserve - but forgives us through His grace and loves us. Life is livable with His grace - is not without it.
Blessings!
