Schedule changes today somewhat

I am changing things about somewhat this morning.  I had to 'drag' myself out of bed at 4AM - which normally I can lay there a bit more as I awake.  Yes, most times I get right up and come in here, but it's cold out now and who wants to come out of the warm covers?  Last night I was awake at 11-ish; 2-ish, and I just didn't want to get up.  But I did.  I have a gym training appointment at 7AM this morning.  And I'm asking myself 'why'?  It will be good for me and gives me back my evening, somewhat.  But, it cuts my time short in here by about 45 minutes as I will need to stop early and get dressed to head over there by 6:30AM.  I used to go - years ago - to the gym at 5AM so what am I whining about, right?  I'm older and wiser, that's why!  LOL  It's all good; perhaps it will wake me up.  After all, it is LEGS day.  Sigh.  At least being able to move about some during the day will loosen the lactic acid up in the muscle.  At night I come back home and sit!  Well, I'll be sitting at my desk today, but at least I can move about.  I think hubby is planning on going with me and walking the treadmill or riding the bike.  I did write myself a note last night that I had the gym; I was afraid I'd forget and settle in for a short nap.  But that may come later today.  Much later.  Sigh.  I have a dreaded board meeting I have to attend today at 1PM.  So 1-2:30PM I'm focused and the door is shut!

And, with going to the gym at 7AM, I will need to figure out my work time.  It's either 8-5PM today with a lunch break, which isn't a big deal as we have nothing going on tonight, or 8-4PM cause I don't need to take a lunch hour. Grateful that I am not hourly and do not have to account for my time, but my boss knows that I will work the time I need to and not take advantage of being salaried.  It does have its advantages, being salaried.  But I'm also very conscious to not take advantage of it.  It works both ways; some days I have to work over and through lunch as well.  Not a big deal; I do my job and it comes first during the day.

I stayed home alone last night while hubby met with his friend for their bible study.  I worked a few minutes on my diamond art project. Then I decided I needed to work on the quilt for the great-granddaughter more, so put on a movie and finished sewing the batting down.  I need to trim it now and find the lace I want to use on the sides.  That and decide if I want to do something else to it, like knotting a few places to make sure the batting holds.  Need to check my yarn colors for that.  Maybe I can get it completed yet this week.  And then start on the next one.  So far my fingers have been ok - perhaps because I have been spacing out the sewing.

I was told yesterday from one of my peers that they are leaving at the end of the year and going elsewhere.  I immediately turned on my 'guilt-trip- comments (of which my family says I'm the master of, but I don't think so!).  I depend on him so much for pulling the slides together for this board meeting we are having today.  I know who it will be delegated to when he leaves - ME!  And I don't know how to do it and I keep telling them I'm too old to learn!!  But, alas, I will have no choice in the matter.  I'm begging him not to leave, but he says that he wasn't looking, they came to him (he is really smart) and 'made an offer he can't refuse'. I told him to be prepared for the next six weeks to hear me whining and begging and trying to make him feel guilty for leaving.  He laughed.  I really like this guy; besides, he is the one who got me my cast iron dish at last year's Christmas party. Remember that?  I won it and then it was taken away in that stupid Christmas gift game, and I got a bag of chocolate, and because he saw I really wanted the dish - and got it for me so that I could get it back.  Yeah, I like it when people take care of me.  I've seen his work and I have no clue where or how they do this stuff.  Of course, he is a 'young one'... probably late 20's maybe or early 30's.   Anyway - guilt trip for dumping work on me after he leaves is coming up!  He told me to 'bring it on'.  LOL

I Peter 2:15-16 (NKJV):  For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men - as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.

I like the NLT version of this verse, I think, much better as it explains it.  Makes me think of comments made earlier, does it you?

I Peter 2:15-16 (NLT):  It is God's will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you.  For you are free, yet you are God's slaves, do don't use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.

Whatever we do or say, we are slaves to God and His Word - and when we stick with Him, He will make others look foolish.  One should not use the freedom we have in God to abuse or do evil to others, but remember 'Whose you are'.

I've had my coffee this morning, as usual, and I'm finally starting to become awake.  Well, as awake as I can get this early in the morning.  Got a short time before I have to start getting dressed for the gym. And that's ok. I'm awake enough now to say 'ok'.

Hubby has been after me to make a Christmas list for him, and as I think of things we can use, I write them on the board in the laundry room.  I'm waiting for his comments.  At the bottom of the list I have put 'permission to retire before I die'.  Did I mention this subject before?  See, I AM getting old!  Isn't the memory the first thing that goes? But then, the alternative could be scary.  Hubby still won't give me the bills to pay; he has to control that checkbook.  Which is stupid on his part for I could pay off things much faster than he does.  But, it's my spending money and I spend it well.  I think we had three deliveries yesterday and he made comments every time a box was dropped off.  He would ask 'what is it?' and I'd respond with "Christmas!".

We plan to put our trees up tonight. Hubby was harping on it yesterday and that he wanted to help me. I just looked at him and said, "You don't usually help me with the trees."  But, he said he wants to help me put it together.  Really?  Doesn't he remember that he usually DOES help me as it is in three sections and he helps me align the holes?  He doesn't mean the decorations - that 'my job', so he says.  Ok - whatever. But he has designated tonight as him helping me put the tress up.  Tomorrow, then, I may start wrapping some and getting some space in this room.  The bed is getting covered in boxes now as well. Need to tear some down and put in the recycle stack.   I did buy a game that I'm hoping some can play it while we finish up lunch preparations.  It's called Uzzle; saw it on facebook and took a chance and bought it.  Looks like a fun game, and makes you use your brain.  Hmmm, maybe hubby and I should play it frequently to keep our brains active.

And with that, I think I'm going to get off here and read a little before needing to get dressed and out the door for my workout.  Hope that you have an amazing day.

Remember Whose you are....

Blessings!
