Buried yet breathing

It was a crazy busy day yesterday with scheduling meetings, creating contracts, and sending emails - and that was with just my people.  Mainly the one who keeps me the most busy.  Yeah, he's back from a few days off.  No, I didn't get everything done before I stopped at 4PM.  I have a life, and although work does take the majority of it, nothing was pressing enough that I needed to work later.  I was tired at 4PM, though, but went on to fix chicken and green beans for dinner.

Hubby actually left the TV off last night and didn't even ask if I wanted to watch a movie!  Grateful. I needed the quiet to just be quiet.  Does that make sense?  I did crochet a couple rows on the baby blanket I am working on. I tried to read, and I think I did read a chapter, but just couldn't focus on it so quit. It was a nice quiet evening, and I think I needed that.  I didn't have training last night and I didn't go to the gym either.  I need to stay focused on keeping my body strong and healthy.

I had a really weird dream last night and I keep pushing it out of my mind as it makes no sense to me and was really weird.  At one point, I was being carried on a flat round surface (I was sitting on it) by a pastor friend that I know.  I didn't want to be on it and kept trying to get off... but he carried me to a destination, and I was allowed to get off.  I have no idea where I was taken nor why, and I woke up from this deep sleep I was in.  It was such a weird dream that I prayed that God would remove it from my mind. And He has, but that one part still lingers... and I am going to believe that God brought to the mind of this pastor/friend that I needed prayer, and he was interceding for me (carrying me) to our Father.  Sometimes being prayed for, or prayed over, is very humbling and I usually end up in tears when it has happened in the past.  It was just a strange dream.

During the day yesterday, because hubby was gone to the eye doctor, I took a short break here and there from work.  I put my sewing machine away.  It has sat there for three years and hasn't been used... some day when I have time, I really want to sew.  My quilts I would rather sew by hand and have three already laid out to put together.  I need to lay aside my crochet and work on these quilts for I hope to make them Christmas gifts. And it is a very slow process when I stitch them all by hand.  But it is the personal touch that I want to give. I pray over the quilts as I sew them, to cover those it is for in prayer as well.  I've given each of my children king-size quilts that I have hand-sewed together.  They aren't perfect by any means, but I did it in love. I hope they mean as much to them as they did to me to make them.

Some time ago I found the same pattern of a quilt I had given to my oldest son and his wife a few years ago and I bought a small amount.  My thought is to make the same pattern quilt for our great-granddaughter.  I do have big dreams of completing it by Christmas..... but if I start on the one I want to do first, it may be another Christmas.  Just thinking aloud here.   I have big dreams of completing all these projects..... and continue to work my best... sigh.

Anyway - after I put the sewing machine away, I moved the table to the exercise room and put a computer monitor on it that I have.  Thought maybe I could bring up my exercise videos and could work on them... in my spare time, of course.  Sigh.  Like I said, I have big dreams..... Why couldn't I just normally be slender and beautiful - but it is such hard work!  I love food, that's my problem, I think.

Tonight is a grandson's last band concert so I plan to head over that way after work, and yes, I remember that it starts at 6PM instead of 7PM.  This grandson had prom recently and the photos I saw I could hardly recognize him - he was actually smiling!  Big!  Of course he was with his girlfriend, why wouldn't he be smiling. LOL  He sure is a cutie!  Yes, I said that.  He's my grandson and he's a cutie!

Ephesians 4:29-30 (NKJV):  Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary for edification, that it will impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, for whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

That one is sometimes a hard one to follow, isn't it?  Yeah, even I stumble on that one, as you well know.  Even though I may not say things, I may have thought them, which is about the same. I may not need to go to someone and say 'please forgive me for....' because I didn't speak the words to them, but I do need (and have) to go to my heavenly Father and ask His forgiveness for allowing the thoughts to linger in my mind instead of casting them out.  We all know how we as people can be caught up in the worldly emotions; some more than others. Some people are so desperate for affirmation that they will pull up things from the past so that they can get people to 'like' them.  They don't realize that people will like them for who they are..... if they would just be themselves and quit having every sickness that comes around or know of someone who does.

Life isn't always about us, but who we are portrays who Christ is in us.  Let that thought sink in. I spend a lot of time praying for forgiveness because I always feel I have failed in so many ways.  I can blame my life (sometimes) on my past, never being shown a good example so I didn't know .... but Jesus, He has shown me the right way, and has shown me that it is the way to walk.  I shudder to think what my life would be like if He had not taken all my mistakes and failures and STILL drew me close to Him and walks with me in this journey of life.

And He does that for you as well.  Even though you may feel you have slipped away and He doesn't care, that is a lie from the devil.  Jesus loves you even more than a mother could, a grandmother could. I am sure my grandmother prayed for me, and that is what brought me to Him.  So I pray for my children and grandchildren - and even my great-grandchildren, and those that are not yet born - that they will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord and will come to love Him even more than I do. That they will walk in His ways, and not their own. How I wish I could help them to see this world is not their home, it is not their final place, that Jesus has prepared mansions for them in heaven and is walking with them and waiting for them, to turn to Him for guidance and direction. Glory to His name!

Though at times I fail, when I run back to my Master and seek His face and not my own, He gathers me in to His arms and forgives, loves, and helps me get on the right path once again.  And He will do that for you as well.  Just ask Him.  Don't think you are too busy to take the time.  You had time to read this. Sit back and close your eyes, and turn your thoughts to the One who knows all.  He loves you beyond measure.

Blessings!
