I 'hit' work running yesterday morning and it caused me to be 'running' all day! It seemed like I was either scheduling meetings or looking up availability for others for my people. It was a busy day, and it went fairly fast, but I had to get up and walk away a couple times and just look out the window for a few minutes to regain stability in my mind. I'm hoping today will be much better, although I know I already have meetings there for me to schedule this morning. It is what it is.
With all my eating wrong things up to the time I left on Jailbreak (and the scales going up about 3 pounds!), even with eating chocolate and brownies, and powdered donuts, and pasta, and bread..... getting back home and eating somewhat more healthy, I've managed as of this morning to lose about two pounds of that extra three. I'm deciding I am going to quit stressing about this Virta plan and just be watchful of what I eat. It isn't costing me anything to be on it; the company is paying for it. And it has helped me drop around about 10 pounds (before I added some). If I want something, I'm going to eat it. But I'm also going to be watchful of how much of it I eat, and exactly what I am eating. I need to get 're-serious' about getting my body healthy. If I drop carbs, I'll lose my belly fat - and I really want to.... but carbs ae so good, right? Ok - enough about that.
I washed my hair last night and I see where the white was, it is getting lighter. Which tells me this wasn't a very good dye job. But - I DID get two compliments last night without any expectation!! Seriously! Morgan, my trainer, loves my hair color and said it makes me look younger. (I don't think so, I think it makes me look older, but that's me) As we were leaving the gym last night, the young lady at the desk, whom has checked us in together several times so has a vague idea of who I am and what I look like (not necessarily by name, we are checked in by keyfobs) - she didn't check us in last night, but as we were walking out, she tells me "I love your hair! It really looks nice!" Now THAT made me feel good! I have been noticed! I matter! Well, enough that someone noticed a change made to my hair. I don't know her name, but I'm going to find out cause she is now my new friend. :-) In the meantime, I'm still not so sure about the color.... but it is starting to fade some, so will see how long it lasts.
Ugh. I got notification this morning from my EOB that I am going to be billed $173 for the diagnostic reading of the biopsy on my bug bites. Which was useless, in my opinion. But, I was willing to get it done to get to the bottom of what was going on with my skin. They just said the gray area under my skin was just skin under the skin that was healing, remember? The dermatologist gave me the strongest cream he could and I used it - and all but two of the bug bites disappeared at first, but now all the bug bites are gone, and I don't have the pin pricks anymore. BUT now I have a dime-size area of darkness on my leg where he did the biopsy. Interesting, the other biopsies I have had done did not leave any thing like that. O well; it's on the inside of my leg and I don't wear shorts that short for anyone to see. I'm just glad there is healing.
It looks so nice outside; wish I could just go out and sit and enjoy the coolness of the morning.
Proverbs 15:1 (NIV): A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Isn't that verse the absolute truth! I can be in a great mood and feeling great, and hubby says something to me that sounds like he is telling me what to do (when his opinion is not asked) or criticizing me (i.e., about my hair), I find myself getting angry. What about you? Do you find that sometimes people - including your spouse - irritate you at times? I haven't gotten angry about it, but I've noticed the last couple of weeks that when hubby comes in to bring me my coffee, instead of being quiet and just handing me the cup, he will interrupt my reading or writing and start asking me, "What time did you get up?" "What do you think you will be doing today?" "Do you think I should...?" "I think I will take the trash out after lunch." Silly things that don't need an answer at 5AM. He causes me distractions and it is annoying, but it hasn't reached the anger point. I just answer his question and let it go. He is so hungry for someone to give him attention and let him know that he matters.
Which he sort of commented on this last weekend when we talked on Saturday. I passed it off as the boys knew I was going on Jailbreak, but they may not have known WHEN or that I was gone... and it is very true. I don't know if they connected the dots I would be gone. But getting to what I am going to share, he asked me after I got home Sunday if I had asked the SIL to call him Sunday morning. No, I had not. I had hinted to my youngest to touch base and he said 'nope'. I don't remember if I outrightly asked the oldest if he would, but I'm sure he wouldn't either. I had mentioned to my daughter Saturday after my phone call what hubby had said. Her hubby didn't want to do it either, but he did text him Sunday morning and asked if hubby needed anything and was he doing ok. He was already at Bobbi's Cafe (instead of going to church!) for breakfast and told the SIL no, he was fine, thanks for calling.
I get it, I really do. There are people that I know I need to call for various reasons and every cell in my body is screaming 'NOOOOOO'. LOL There are others I have no problem with picking up the phone and checking in on them. I've tried to be nice and friendly to some, but there is one that I still find my cells screaming out 'NO' to even talk to them. Once a victim always a victim, I guess. I still try to be kind; I don't have to like their behavior, but I am called to love them. Sometimes that is really hard.
The youngest has let me know he is leaving Saturday for a two weeks long trip. He doesn't mind driving long distances and is taking his best friend, his son, and a grandson with him. I have mixed emotions about him taking that trip. He plans to see my siblings as well as his half sister. They plan to visit several places in Texas as well. It's going to be a long trip. I'll definitely be praying for safety for them all.
Watch your words and speak kindly. You never know when someone needs a kind word, rather than a harsh word. When things are troubling us, it is sometimes hard not to take it out on others. But we don't know what they are going through either. One day at a time. One word at a time. Speak kindly.
Blessings!
