At least I pretty much slept through the night

I decided to take 1/2 of a pain pill last night before I went to bed, in hopes that it would keep my hip from hurting and I could sleep through the night.  I believe it did what I wanted it to - I still got up once but not because of the hip pain.  Speaking of, it has started to rear its head this morning but I'm ignoring it.  Maybe it will go away on its own.  I did tell hubby about it yesterday and also about the bug bites.  There are about 20 now.  But I have been putting a cream on them and I think they are starting to heal. At least they don't hurt as much.  But the hip/thigh pain is just so confusing.  Maybe it is because I sleep on that side the most that it is telling me to stop?  A former doctor and I had this agreement.  If I ever felt sick, or was hurt, that I would wait two weeks.  If I still had the symptoms, or if they had worsen, I would go to the doctor.  That decision has kept me out of doctors offices for years.   It's been 4 nights; let's see how long this leg pain continues.  If it's only at night, I think it is just my laying on it forever.  It still hurts in the beginning of the morning, will try not to take tylenol this morning and see if it continues or goes away on its own.  Maybe if I lost some of this fat it would help?  Naw, it's a cushion for the bone, right?

Yesterday was busy and yes, it was my male boss driving me crazy.  I had an 8AM meeting with my favorite boss and she was talking about how she had been wishing she was retiring.  I still expect it to happen in June of this next year.  Or even in September.  She's had her entire house completely remodeled - they are almost done - floors, cabinets, appliances - everything.  It's almost completed (it's taken them about 6 months!).  They have been frugal over the years and not only has their house paid for, they have no debt for this remodel either.  It's like having a new house without moving.  Wish I could do that here.  Sigh. Only I want to move.  Long story.   I enjoy working.  I manage 'my' expenses.  Other than utilities and the house and hoa, hubby pays for his car.... I still think we could manage if I wasn't working.  Yes, it would be tight financially, but what household isn't?  I have so many projects I want to complete and no time (or desire most times) to get started on them.  An hour or two a couple times a week isn't enough to complete some of these tasks.  Even in here, I keep looking at what I can get rid of.  My kids don't need to have this mess to clean out.  And I better stop right there.

I am still undecided about which Bible I will start reading from.  I have an old 'Principles' Bible that Charles Stanley put out years ago that I picked up to read this morning. It's a daily one so has enough to read in 15 minutes.  Since I read another Bible in the evenings for my pleasure, I don't have to spend a long time in the mornings reading.  Something isn't clicking this morning so I may be jumping around in my Bible reading for a few days while I figure out which version and which Bible I want to read.  Decisions, decisions.

Hubby is going to have a 'busy' morning.  He's having just coffee with a friend at 8AM this morning - and then meeting one of our former pastors for lunch about 10:30-ish.  He won't be back home until noon or later.  It will be a quiet morning. And if I can get out of work some, maybe I can do a little clean-up without someone watching me.  I should start with my desk.  sigh.  Tax time will be here before we know it and I have receipts and papers stacked - I could go through that and get it in order...I reckon.  Naw, I'd rather do something else.  Which reminds me - the box of clothes my sister sent me a couple weeks ago I need to bag up for hubby to drop off at the Salvation Army this morning as he heads that direction.  I won't wear them. I wouldn't have shipped them to anyone unless they were desperate for clothes.  Why my sister thought I'd want faded jeans and ugly shirts I have no idea.  I paid for the shipping; since I'm giving it away, surely I can take the postage as a donation as well?  Probably not.

A grandson called me yesterday and when I saw it was him, I answered with a 'Happy Birthday'.  He chided me (or tried to) that 'oh so now you are telling me!' - but I reminded him I had already sent him a text and had posted on facebook as well.  He never calls me so I asked what was up. He was bored. So call grandma? LOL And that's ok.  As we talked, I don't know how we got around to it - but he wants me to make him an apple pie for his birthday.  And I will.  I will probably buy the crusts - and I pulled out an apple pie recipe and am excited about having something to bake for a reason.  I don't remember what's on tap for Saturday, but I'll get him an apple pie made sometime over the weekend.  Don't know if I have ever made an apple pie so this will be a treat for me as well.

I made some 'world's best no bake chocolate bars' last weekend and took all but 4 I think to my trainer last night.  Well, all but 4 and what we have eaten.  These 4 - I mean 3 that are left - will be gone tonight, I'm sure.  LOL  So simple to make and I really enjoyed making them - peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, coconut, oats, walnuts, vanilla.... I think that is all it is - oh yeah - dark chocolate chips.  The chips are what makes it so sweet, I think.  No sugar; just the honey and the sugar in the chocolate chips.  I need to find the Lilys brand; I think they have less sugar, but they are also more expensive. To give away, I would buy the Lilys brand, but fur us; naw.  They are addictive though. So good. I will make again.  Just not right now.

2 Samuel 7:22 (NKJV):   Therefore You are great, O Lord God. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all we have heard with our ears.

Have you ever really sat down and thought about what you really think about God?  No, that's not a loaded question.  But seriously.  So many people treat God as an afterthought. They only think about Him if they are going through tough times, or if there is a death in the family, or a sickness.  That's usually the only time some people think about Him.  But what do YOU think about Him?

Have you ever thought about how good He is to you and your family?  Have you ever considered that all you have is a gift from Him?  It doesn't matter 'you bought it' - He still provided it for you.  And yes, sometimes He lets us have all we want and more - and then (like me) we complain we have too much 'stuff'!  But it is all a gift from God.  He is so good to all of us.

Afterall, we woke up this morning.  We are breathing.  We have what we call 'life' in us.  Consider the alternative!  Some of us have purpose.  Some of us have plans. Some of us want to have an excuse on why we can't do anything.  But God even allows us those choices.  Have you ever thought about how our choices define our life?  How sometimes our choices make our life?

I think we all have made some wrong choices at one time or another.  I know I have. But God has taken some things that I thought were wrong choices, and brought good from them.  He does that for you as well.  God will take our bad stuff, our bad choices (in our opinion) and work them out for our good.  He does that because He loves us so much.  He allows us to make wrong choices at times so that we can learn from them.  Sometimes it takes some of us a few times of 'wrong choices' to finally realize it is a wrong choice.  But we need to learn from those wrong choices and choose wisely if there is a 'next time'.

God is good, all the time God is good.  I know He saw what my future could have been, and re-directed my path. And no matter how much I complain about my life at times, if it wasn't for God intervening in my life, I would not be who I am today.

And that is His.  Thank You, Jesus.  Are you ready for Jesus to intervene in your life?  Sometimes you need to let go of your stubbornness, let go of the things you are holding on to.  Choose Jesus. You will never regret it.

Blessings!
