Wish I was out walking...

I've seen a couple walkers out front this morning and I'm wishing I would be motivated to get dressed early and get out and walk while the mornings are somewhat cool at 75 degrees this morning.  But, alas, I like snuggling into my chair with my blanket and reading.  And then, of course, I must allow time to write in here.  Tomorrow may prove difficult.  Remember the board meeting I mentioned previously that I was angry about being thrown into?  Well, it's tomorrow.  At 6AM our time.  7AM Colorado time.  Only time the doctors there who are on the board can attend.  I get that.  But the doctors here who are on the other board made time to be on a board meeting at 1PM.  Just saying.  I'm a bit more familiar with the documents for this board meeting, but I'm still not happy about it.  I told my male boss he will have to deal with God as he was taking away an hour of my quiet time.  But that's not really true... This last hour is always (most always) spent checking emails and typing in here.  So I may not be able to type tomorrow... will see how that goes.  You do want to know what I did today, right?

I finally got pretty much caught up from being off the two days last week.  Last night hubby went to his bible study and I was home alone.  It was nice.  I turned on the TV to watch a movie, but decided I didn't want to.  So shut it off and grabbed a book.  That was nice.  Enjoyed the quiet for a bit before hubby returned.  I think he has one more week of this study and then it's over for the summer.  At least he still meets his friend on Thursday (was Tuesday) nights.  Not sure if he will switch back to Tuesdays now or if I will be leaving him at home alone on Tuesday nights while I meet up with my daughter.  Or will we change to Thursdays... its messing up my schedules!!

Today is a granddaughter's birthday - I can't keep track how old they are anymore, and luckily, I still remember their birthdays.  Great grands I can't remember much!  I thank she will be ...27?  I may be in trouble for thinking that.  I notice I have 25 written down somewhere, but I think that was a couple years ago.

Our neighbors are going to get a letter from the management company, I'm guessing. So glad hubby resigned from the HOA.  Monday or Tuesday they painted their shutters a very pretty blue.  They were green, like ours.  We don't like our color either, but we were told we couldn't change it.  They bought a new garage door shortly after they moved in and it is different than ours as well.  The duplexes are supposed to remain identical.  So does that mean we can paint ours blue as well?  I'm willing, for it is a pretty blue!  They are the ones who have their place up for sale for $460K.  Yeah, if they get anywhere near that, we are selling ours too!  I still want a stand alone house that is not in an HOA so that I can do what I want to!   But so much for my new plants - it really hasn't even gotten hot yet and my two rose tress have burned up - and what is really weird, is that the rose bushes that I have had since we moved in - they are getting burnt leaves as well, as well as the one that was here before we moved in!  I don't get it.  It really hasn't gotten that hot yet.  My blueberry plant is also starting to get 'those leaves' so I think I may dig it up and move it to where it is shaded more.  Or is it that I just don't have a green thumb?

Morgan changed my training time to 5PM tonight.  Granddaughter mentioned inviting us to her birthday dinner tonight once she decides on a place.  I haven't heard where yet.  I was scheduled at 5:30 so we can meet 30 minutes earlier. Tonight I get to do HIIT!!  I love the challenge of it.  HIIT?  High Intensity Interval Training.  I am wiped out afterwards, but energized as well because I am able to complete it!  But trust me, it is very tough!

I was reading in a book this morning by Jill Briscoe.  It's an older book, I think, and she was sharing about her experience on September 11, 2001.  She was in a United plane, flying over the ocean, when they were diverted to Newfoundland.  She was 'stuck' there with all the other planes that were sent there, for six days.  Only when they landed were they told what had happened to the world trade centers.  But instead of fear, she had peace.  It was interesting how she shared with another person who had been on that flight with her, who had kept saying over and over, "I just want to go home.".  Jill said she realized that she 'felt' home, because her home is Christ living in her.  She had peace, because she had Jesus.  Would she rather be back in the US with her family.  Absolutely.  But she shared with this person about Jesus, and how He is our Peace in the midst of the storms of life.

Philippians 4:7 (KJV):  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

In the midst of any storm of life, Christ Jesus is our peace.  Do I really believe that?  Yes.  A simple answer.  Yes. I believe that.  Why do I believe that?  Because I have been through many trials, many storms, and since I have walked with Jesus, even though storms come at me with all power, I know that I know I am His.  I know that in ALL things, He is in control and that nothing can - or will - happen if He allows it.  Sometimes the storms of life come when we need to relook at our lives and see where we may have stepped away from Him.  They are to bring us back to the only One who can get us through life.

I can still remember when our finances were so bad that I fell upon my knees in desperation, crying out to God for help.  Through His Word, He showed me that He was in control, and that I could have peace with Him if I gave the situation to Him.  It's a good memory; a painful one because of the circumstances, but a good one because I learned that day that God knows my pain, He knows my heart, He knows my struggle, and He is willing to walk with me through each and every one.

And He is here for you as well.  Struggling to give up a habit?  An addiction?  You are not alone.  We all have something that we tend to be 'addicted' to.  TV.  Food. Facebook. Other people. Perfection. Anger. Hatred. Victimization. Bragging.  Yes, these and many more.  Habits could include things that we do unconsciously that we probably should stop doing.  Have you ever stopped to think why you do some of the things you do?  You do it automatically because you have done it for so long.  It doesn't mean a habit is bad - or good - but think about what you do on a daily basis.  Do you know why you do what you do?  I'm sitting here thinking about the things I do.  What have I made into a habit and why.  What is it that I am addicted to (besides food).  I find lately I have been scrolling facebook way too much.  I don't delete it because sometimes that is how I find out what is going on in my family.  But they rarely post.  For some reason I'm drawn to the royalty of England and Spain.  I love watching the clips of them.  I don't know nor will ever know these people.  Why am I entertained by their reels?  I think it is because every little girl wants to be a princess.  A former pastor used to call me a princess at times, because he said I was the daughter of the King.  And he is right.  I am.  Now I tell everyone I've graduated to Queen because of all my little princesses around me. :-)

And with that - I'm going to stop and jump off here.  So how is your peace going this morning?  Do you feel a struggle inside of you regarding an issue?  Maybe you need to sit still for a moment or two and just have a conversation with God on how to have His peace that passeth all understanding.  You never know how much you need that peace, until you get it.  And He is the only One who can give it to you.  It's not status or money.  It is all about Jesus.

Blessings!
