I figured it out...

all by myself. Not that it was hard.  I knew there was a brightness thing in one of the icons at the bottom - just pulled it up and adjusted it. I must have hit certain keys to take it down a couple notches. No worries; it's back to 'normal' (whatever that is) this morning.

Yesterday was good; I did go see Ms. Diane and she cracks me up, devouring the White Castles I took her.  I heated up and took two.  I took one out of the package and she ate it.  We sat there and talked a bit and I noticed she kept looking at the other one still in the bag.  Finally she says "I would really like to eat that other one."  LOL  So I took it out of the bag and she devoured it as well!  Before I left she said she wanted to keep one of the cartons out so that she could show her daughter I brought her White Castles.  Uh, no, I'm not sure what the problem is there, and I'm still trying to figure out why her daughter (or son) did not call me or text me and tell me Ms. Diane was in the hospital or that she had been moved to rehab. I found out by calling Ms. Diane to visit!  I've gone two days in a row now and I have to get in my car and drive about mile north of us.  What is my problem that I can't go across the street and visit once a week? I need to work on that attitude, you think?  I really can't go every day, but I need to go a couple times a week.

We will be going to church this morning and I need to finish this and figure out what I am going to be wearing.  I still like to dress up for church.  I can easily go in jeans and no one cares; even the pastor wears jeans and a t-shirt.  But they are form fitting and he looks good in them (not that I really look!), and his wife wears jeans and t-shirts or a nice top and sometimes a casual dress.  Our church is one where it doesn't matter what you wear, it all worshipping God and praising Him.  Looking forward to the third message in this series Pastor John is doing on the promises of God.  I think that is the series name. See what happens when I mentally check out for a week?  I'll get a text reminder soon - every Sunday we get a text on what the message is about and generally about who is speaking that morning, along with the times of service and a 'looking forward to seeing you there'.  I love how the pastors and the church keep in contact even with general texts.  I ger personal texts from Pastor John and Pastor Lindsay and I love it. And I don't abuse it by texting and sending them jokes.   Hope to meet up with them soon for lunch.

I've started a new devotional today titled 'A Call to Grace'.  Oh how I need God's Grace for I'm a mess most of the time!  I bought the book used and there is some writing in it, but whoever had it before didn't go beyond the first chapter, I don't think.  I can get some white out tape and block those words.  I generally do not write my responses in books; I put them in my journals and that way if down the road I give away a book (heaven forbid I should do that!) or want to do it again, I can write my answers based on where I am at that time.  I want to do another book by this guy - David Nasser - titled 'A call to Die'.... but we are to fast 40 days and I can't for the life of me come up with anything to fast.  I mean, I can, and unfortunately, this blog is the first thing I generally think of because I put it before a lot of things.  Not before my time with God, but I sometimes feel guilty that I 'make' myself get up to write in here and stop what I was reading or doing.  Does that make sense?

Could I actually go back to what I did years ago and just write in here on occasion?  I enjoy writing in here daily for it is my outlet of thinking, complaining, whining, or just being me.  But maybe I should consider something else.  I like doing this in the mornings as hubby isn't where he can see me and ask what am I writing, etc. Some of you will know what I mean by that.  If I wait until end of day and winding down, he will know I'm doing it and will again ask...'what can you talk about so much?'  But do I need to try and ramble in here every day... that is my thinking. Do I need to give it up altogether.  Hmmm.  My son only writes in his when he feels like it.  I think he did write in it twice this week.  I love reading his blogs for then I know what's going on in his life.      On the other hand, I make my life an open book with writing in here every day.  I think my son knows me better than anyone in my family, just by reading in here.

But going back to the devotional I've started this morning, we are to start memorizing Ephesians 1:1-10.  Doesn't seem like much, does it?  But for a weary mind like I have that hasn't memorized anything in a few years, I am going to need to relearn what I have forgotten about memorizing scriptures.  I used to be able to do it easily. But, over the years, I have let it go. I didn't have to memorize anything. And I didn't.  But sometimes, we just need to do it for ourselves.

Psalm 116:1-2 (NIV):  I love the Lord, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live.

That isn't a verse I'm asked to memorize (yet), but it is one that I should.  Have you ever wondered if the Lord hears you when you call out to Him?  He does hear, unless you are in sin against Him.  Then again, I think it would depend what you were crying out to Him for. If it is for forgiveness, I am confident He hears you. (Trust me, I tend to do that more often than I care to admit)  I am trying to remember where it says that if a husband is sinning against the wife, the Lord will not hear his prayers.  And that goes for women too.

I want the Lord to always hear me, and I do try to live as He wants me to - but 'life' gets in the way, you know what I mean?  Hubby can easily set me off. Of I get impatient.  You know a lot of my struggles and 'issues' - I've openly confessed them to you via here.

But I want to change.  I want God's Grace over all of me that I do not walk in anything but His grace.  That's one reason I'm starting this book.  I need God's Grace over every part of my life.  I need Him.

I want to fall deeper in love with Jesus. I want to walk in Grace. I want people to look at me and know that I am different, that I belong to Jesus, just by looking at me.

Which reminds me - and then I must get off here and start getting ready - When my DIL came in the room to see me the other day, (I may have already told this) when they knew (other nurses, Ms. Diane) that I knew her, their comment was 'everyone loves DIL'.  And I do too.  I think she just may walk in grace.

Blessings!
