I'm writing in here before I even do my reading this morning because - for the first time in a very.long.time - I slept until 7AM! We went to bed around 9:30-ish I'm guessing - but I slept sound... well, I woke up once and said "Nope, not even going to look at the time" and turned over and went back to sleep. It was the best sleep I've had in a long time. I had turned off my Fitbit alarms that awaken me during the week on my Fitbit, so nothing woke me.... until I heard hubby shuffling down the hall and opened my eyes to see the time - and it was actually 6:58AM! WhenI got up, hubby told me he was getting ready to wake me up - he was getting worried!
So here I am, not quite awake, haven't read anything, just got my cup of coffee..... so what do you expect?
The swelling has gone down quite a bit in my jaw. Don't go back to the oral surgeon until next Monday - and then I guess they will tell me when the implant will be. A lot of people have said it is usually a 3 month break in between extraction and bone build-up. I hate the thought of thinking about this for three months. But that would help with paying the balance down - only got hit for $1800 this time.
It's Sunday - and I'm not sure if we will be going to church or not. It doesn't start until 11AM - but I'm guessing hubby will say no because we will be gone to the RV parks the next two weeks (then we are done). I was wanting to go - but since I slept so late and won't get my reading done because I need to stop at 8AM and watch Jentezen Franklin.... I may be ok with it. Oh well, will see what he says.
I stopped at Fry's on the way home from Needles of Hope yesterday - it was good for my mental health to get out and spend some time with 'the girls'. I strolled Fry's - didn't really need anything but milk - but walked around and picked up a few things. I usually order everything I need online (saves me lots of money - trust me!) and then arrange a time for me to go pick it up. I have not been disappointed with their service. Saves me an hour or more walking through the rows, dealing with people when its crowded, and picking up things I really don't need just because it is on sale. But then - as I walked by the Deli - I saw it. I love Fry's Fried Chicken. (Last time I got chicken from KFC, I think they killed the pullets - they are the teenage chickens. It was a young pullet at that! I kid you not! The leg was only about two inches long!) Anyway = what caught my eye as I looked at the sign was "8 pc chicken $6.99" and that was flashing 'sale'.... and then the sign switched for just a couple seconds to "buy two and it $10!" Uh is that a no brainer? Save money AND double fried chicken? Yes please. Yes, I bought two 8 piece chicken!
Did I tell you I love Fry's fried chicken? The man who was at the deli told me "I don't fix it like the others do - mine is better!" So I asked him what he did differently. He said that they put it in the air crisper for 12 1/2 minutes but don't put the lid down! But he, on the other hand, puts the lid down and pressure cooks it while it is crisping up - (sounds like my Ninja Foodie my brother got me for Christmas) and he does it in only 10 1/2 minutes! And he did very well! I ate the wings and a leg last night when I got home (I was hungry - only pudding for two days didn't shrink my stomach any - just made it empty!) and yes, I ate it on the right side, slowly, away from the surgery site. And it was so good. I text'd my daughter-in-love in case she wanted to get some for their dinner. 16 pieces of chicken for $10 is a pretty good deal! LOL Guess what is for lunch today? Yeah - I put some in the freezer and left some out. I can take out, thaw, and air crisp in my Ninja when I want chicken again.
Although with all this talk about Fried Chicken.... I did buy the big wide noodles with the thought of making chicken and noodles some time. Just saying.
I've been reading in a book titled Spiritual Warfare in the End Times by Ron Rhodes. Since I'm studying Revelations (but not that deeply, I confess. I just don't have the time to look up all the scriptures given in the daily lesson in the book I'm going through), this has been really interesting. It is also scary. Very scary. I don't know that I could live through the end times - although we are definitely in them. But I mean when it gets really bad and Christians are being persecuted closer to home. Satan is busy at work in the world and it is going to get worse, much worse. The books I have been reading about the End Times is a lot more than the fictional story of the Left Behind series - although it was more personal with a story line. It held your interest.
One thing I have learned in my study - which I have read several times and just read it; not making a connection. Where it says the Beast goes after the woman who delivered the child... the Beast is the Antichrist... but the woman is Israel.... and the man child she 'delivered' is Jesus. The Beast wants to destroy Israel because 'she' delivered Jesus (born in Bethehem) who is God's Son.... Satan wants Him destroyed because he knows his days are numbered and he will be thrown into the abyss forever and Jesus will come in His full glory and there will be the New Jerusalem.
You who are so much into Sci-Fi - would find some of these books on Revelations very interesting.
Another thing I am learning about is there are so many false prophets out there now - and other pastors who are unbelievers! It is shocking to me that one would speak God's Word - and then twist it to mean something totally different, to medicate it, so that their listeners won't leave their church. That is so wrong. God's Word stands alone. What it says, is exactly what it means.
I wish I could have gone to seminary, and I won't go into the reasons why I couldn't go. I did check in to it and could have gone as an 'audit' versus getting a credit for the class because I don't have a college degree. But that wasn't the reason I couldn't go. I would have gone for the knowledge of what I'd learn, not for the credit.
And I always remind myself the none of the disciples had college or seminary degrees. In fact....
Acts 4:13 (NIV) "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus."
I want to be like that. I want to know God's Word so well that when I speak, people will take note that I had been with Jesus.
