After you have suffered for a little while....

I Peter 5:10.  When I read that verse the other day in my devotions, it really hit home.  It opened my eyes to some things that have been happening that I hadn't really realized.  I didn't realize that I was being 'punished' because I didn't conform to someone's expectations of me.  Wow, doesn't that sound weird.  I refused to 'obey' what I felt was not right.  I didn't 'perform' according to what I was told.  Am I being rebellious?  Not really.  Just standing up for what I believe, and acting as a child of God.   For those of you who wonder what the verse says - here it is.

1 Peter 5:10
10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

It also reminds me of another scripture.

1 Peter 2:23
When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

and still another:

Romans 8:28

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.

So, in thinking about and reading these scriptures once again, I have determined that I will not respond to things said to me.  I will entrust myself to Him who will restore what the enemy is trying to take away from me.  I will believe that when God's Word says that IN ALL THINGS, that is exactly what it means.  My God will work for my good, because I love Him, and because I have been called according to His purpose.  He has brought me to where I am.  All I have belongs to Him.  All I am is due Him.  All Glory, all Honor, all Praise is His alone.

It doesn't matter what I'm going through, or what has happened.  My God will see me through this, and I will come through unblemished, because I am His.

What are you going through right now?  Do you feel that you have been treated unfairly and you are ranting and raving about your rights?   Has it changed anything?  Has it made any difference other than you letting off steam?  Probably not.

Entrust your anger, your pain, the injustice of it all - to our Heavenly Father.  He loves you beyond measure and He will right what has been wronged against you.  It may not happen in the time frame you want it to happen, you may not know it has happened.  But after you have struggled, He will restore you, because He loves you.

Hang in there!  You may be in for a ride.   Watch and see what God wants you to learn from this.  It IS all about HIM!

Blessings!
