It really WAS funny....

I finally had a chance to talk with my little sister last night; we hadn't talked all week as they had gone to Tennessee for a couple days and life got in the way of my reaching out.  But we did finally talk and she told me about seeing her son and grandson, and even her ex while she was down there.  Her ex's wife died unexpectedly last year.  She had gone in for a colonoscopy... and I don't know what happened, but she died a day or so after having it done, never leaving the hospital (makes me not to want to do it any more!).  Anyway, I guess her ex came and had breakfast with them all and she said it went well.  He even rushed to hug her when he saw her!  But the funny part... and it doesn't really have to do with her ex.... are you still trying to figure out where I'm going with this?  The grandson wanted to take my sister and hubby to the 'parrot farm' where they have parrots that walk around freely and you can feed them, they crawl up your arm, etc.  So the ex tells him that he has done a lot of work for the owners of the parrot farm; mention my name and you'll get in free.

So the next morning they go to the parrot farm and the grandson goes up and says "Hi, I'm Cameron, and my grandpa is Ron xxxxxx."  They let him in free.  Then my sissy's current husband says "I married his ex!"  And they looked at my sister and surprised at her husband's comment, she just looked at them and goes "I am his ex."  They all got in free.  Cracked me up!

I went to the ladies breakfast yesterday morning and honestly, it was 'just ok' for me.  I mean, I enjoyed it.  But... I don't know... I guess I was somewhat disappointed.  There were about 20 tables with about 6 at each table, and then we had about 4-5 come in after the tables were full and they made room for them.  For the first hour plus, they had the five previous speakers give a 10-15 summary of what they had talked about when they had shared earlier in the year.  It's now after 12PM.  Then they had the audience ask questions.  Another several minutes.  It was nearly 1PM before they started people through the line -  starting with table 1.  I was at table 14.  They ran out of most of the food.  I think they were planning for 80 people (I had heard) and counting the tables... it was closer to $120.  But if they charged $20 per person.... why did they run out of food?  It makes no sense to me.  One always prepares more than what is expected, right?  And it's not just about the food.  This is the first one I attended and I must say it is a lot different than what I have ever attended. For some reason the acoustics in this church blare the microphones - whether it is a Sunday morning service or, I guess, a luncheon.  I much prefer the quiet talk versus the blaring of the microphone.  But that is just me.  Don't mean to complain... the summaries were good and I want to find these talks and listen to them myself.  But it went on way too long, I think.  We didn't get out until 2PM and then we were told 'it's over so clean off the tables cause the men are here to set up for church."  I don't know.... it was nice to sit with someone I knew, and I met a few others I knew, but something was missing for me.  I came straight home instead of going shopping.... I was that tired.  Or I just wanted quiet and no crowds.

I wanted quiet when I got home but hubby had the TV on and then he wanted to watch a movie.  I did not.  He watched a football game while I went to call my sister.  Finally reached her about an hour later, and when we got off the phone it was time to fix dinner.  I was hoping I didn't have to, but hubby was hungry... so I fixed some meat I had thawed out a couple days ago.  We ate and then watched a couple movies.  He's just not content with one and he actually gets upset with me if I don't want to watch a movie or even two of them.  But we did watch two and he slept through the 2nd one. Most of it anyway.

He woke me twice running to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and he informed me when he brought my coffee this morning that it was actually 5 times he made the run, so he wasn't going to church this morning.  I get it.  I think I'd stay home too.  I don't know what could have triggered his intestines to go off like that.... I'm fine, so hopefully it wasn't dinner!  I will be going to church alone this morning.  I have some thoughts about all this... but will share another time.

Psalm 122:1 (NKJV):  "I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go into the house of the Lord.'"

I love going to church and learning more about Jesus.  I enjoy hearing our pastor speak and I pray 'fire on the preacher's head' whenever he comes to mind.  LOL The first time I told him I did that, his eyes got real big and questioning.  I explained - it's for a big anointing of the Holy Spirit!  And I tell you what, the past two months he has 'brought it'!  I can't wait to hear him this morning.  I heard yesterday that we will have a guest pastor next week.  The following week it doesn't matter cause our RV park preaching starts.

Which is what I need to work on this afternoon.  I speak 4 times from Nov 27 through January 1... after that I can breathe a bit.  So I need to hit it hard and get at least one done today.  I'm nearly finished with it, but I need to keep focused and get them all done.

And... I only have a few minutes before I need to get up from this chair and go get dressed for church.  Closing this off, I hope your day is one of joy and

blessings!
