I think. No, didn't get much accomplished, and yet, perhaps I did. I even took a nap in the middle of the day! And that felt good. Starting my day with Jesus always makes a day a good day. I fixed breakfast pizzas for breakfast. It's a mixture of crust, eggs, bacon, and gravy. Yeah, it's Schwans. Too much crust for me, but I was lazy and didn't want to cook. Open the package, throw in the oven. That's how the day started. Then I got busy and cleaned out a couple pieces of furniture that I'm letting go of. I've got to start getting rid of things and get rid of the clutter that weighs me down. I know I've mentioned it many times before. And even now I'm looking around this room to see if there is something else I can let go of and not miss.
After that I decided to go pick up the fruit that had fallen from my neighbor's yard - lots of oranges and grapefruit. I got my juicer out and was just getting ready to juice it, when my neighbor called. She had people over stripping the trees and wanted me to come get more - so I did. I spent the next hour or so juicing oranges and grapefruit. Filled up my decanters, cut up some grapefruit for snacking on. Then ended up freezing a couple bags of juice. I looked up a recipe for grapefruit pie - I just might try to make it this week.
I received an oven mitt with cookie dough in it from my middle child and his wife for Christmas and decided to make those. I love the cardinal on the oven mitt - it reminds me of my mama. So I made the cookies... and because I still have chocolate chips and macadamia nuts, I added those. Not really the right cookie dough for that - but it worked. It only made 20 cookies, and I think I ate 4 of those, and hubby ate some too. I did bag up 8-10 and put in the freezer for a time that I happen to see my oldest son... I know macadamia nut are his favorite. They are just little bitesize cookies, but still, I thought of him when I made them.
After that I was tired, so took a nap. Then my little sister called and we talked for an hour or so. Then it was time to get busy doing something again.... and yet, I didn't. I didn't even cook dinner last night! I didn't want to clean up to go out either, so TV dinners were what we had. I know hubby wasn't impressed nor happy about it, but I didn't see him jumping up to go fix anything eiher. I need to go to the store and pick up bacon for breakfast. And yet, I have a roast laid out to put in the crockpot and a ham bone laid out to make split pea soup today. Or tomorrow. And I want us to go physically to church today. Which means I need to get moving.... cause we'll watch Jentezen Franklin at 9AM. Chuch starts at 11, I think, at the church I want to go to. The fast with Free Chapel was over yesterday. We started a week earlier than they did so finished last Saturday, and I'm grateful we did because of the wedding last Sunday. I'm continuing to fast at least one meal on Wednesdays. As the Lord leads....
I'm watching the first service at Free Chapel as I type this. I love their worship. Jentezen Franklin just spoke and has made me cry at the goodness of the Lord. Oh how I have seen this over and over. When we sow into others' lives, God always blesses. Pastor shared how a pastor in another church had covid and was in ICU. He had asked for Pastor Jentezen to call and pray for him. He did so, and Pastor Jentezen said that he felt led for Free Chapel to help this church as the pastor was unable to be at his church. Free Chapel sent $50,000 to this church, and heard later from that church that the roof needed to be replaced and the cost was $50,000. And Pastor Jentezen said that the very the very week they sent the $50,000 to this other church - someone at Free Chapel sent a $50,000 check to Free Chapel!
I can remember attending a small church in Kirklin, Indiana...... and all I had was $2 in my purse. But that offering plate was passed and I felt I needed to put it in the offering plate, although I knew that was all the money we had. The next day, someone who owed us money for some ceramics I had made them in our ceramic shop - R & N Ceramics, they came by and paid their bill. I received ten-fold the $2 I had given to the Lord. I truly believe it is because I gave the Lord all that I had at that time.
We cannot outgive the Lord. The more we give to Him of our money, of our time, of our talent - the more He gives us. Perhaps it won't be monetary, perhaps we won't even see what He does for us, but I can assure you that when we give all we have to Jesus, He blesses us more than we could ever hope or imagine in so many ways. Our cup runneth over when we put Jesus first.
Don't be minimal. Don't hold back from what God is doing in your life, in your family's life. Don't keep it hidden what He has done. He brought healing to your body? Tell someone! He provided for a need you had? Tell someone! You can't outgive God and you can't thank Him enough for all He has done for you.
After all, God gave His one and only Son, Jesus, to take all - not a minimal, but all - of our sins and nailed them to the cross Because of Jesus, we live.
What a wonderful God we serve! Our cup has not dried up; our cup will always be overflowing when we give as God moves us to do so. God isn't a stingy or minimal God, not with His blessings, not with His riches, not with anything. Our cup is always overflowing. No matter what we do; when we give it to Jesus, our cups will overflow.
Have you tested Him in this? Our God is rich in mercy. You have more of the goodness of God than you do of the gloom of the world, of your circumstances. The grace of God is exceedingly abundant towards you. Picture a cup, and start pouring into it. Don't stop, but keep pouring.... soon it overflows. That is God's goodness to you. How good He is to us!
Sit back in your chair and think about all the goodness God has given you. Are you and your family living well? Are you healthy? Do you have a roof over your head? Do you have food to eat? God is blessing you in so many ways! Take a moment and just say 'Thank You, Lord".
You got a cup? It's not dry - God is overflowing it over your past and wiping it out. God is overflowing it into your present, and into your future. Quit sipping the cup - slurp it! Take in all that God has for you! He is blessing you today - accept it!
Dream big - and slurp up that overflow! God is good and He is faithful!
Blessings!
