Dual citizenship and I'm a Lady!

Both of my bosses were back at work yesterday and I had one meeting to attend....  and after work I had to go pick up some things for my big boss' going away gift.  I had to go to three places before I found what was suggested I pick up to put with the gift cards I am to purchase as well.  I may, depending on what the day's calendar looks like, head over to the drugstore to get the gift cards.  She was well-liked, for sure, as around $1200 was collected for her.  I'm going to get gift cards cause what else do you get someone who plans to travel to Europe and buy a house to use as their base while they travel all over?  Plus her husband has dual citizenship with Italy so they plan to do a lot there as well.  That was an interesting story (on the dual citizenship) when I heard it.  Her husband didn't know he had dual citizenship.  His grandfather had given up his Italian citizenship when he moved to the United States.  However, there is some law there that says as far back as the great-grandfather is a citizen of Italy, you can be.  Wouldn't that be cool!  So he checked into it and sure enough!  He now has dual citizenship, as does his daughter!

When I was chatting with Jerry the other day (my boss' spouse) about his dual citizenship I commented that for Christmas my youngest son gave us a certificate that he bought a square foot of land in our name in Scotland - which makes us a Lord and a Lady of that parcel of land.  It's true!  I framed the certificate and have it setting out.  In fact, someone was talking about it on Facebook the other day (see, even mentioned on Facebook) in one of the groups I'm in.  They mentioned that one of their siblings went to Scotland on vacation, located their square foot, stood on it and took a photo!  Isn't that so cool!  Scotland is selling these one foot square parcels in order to perserve the land.  I have no idea what the cost is, but whatever is received for that square foot, helps maintain the land.

Jerry encouraged me to go to Scotland to find it.  Yeah, like that would happen.  Our finances are no where near what his and my boss' is.  He's been retired for years, but I'm pretty sure my boss has made 4 times (at least) what I've made over the past years.  And they are not one of those extravagant people.  Their house isn't new.  She has a newer car because at one time she traveled a lot for the company, but he drives an old pick-up truck.  Their yard isn't immaculate nor do they live in an upscale neighborhood.  And that's ok.  They now have money to do whatever they want to do.  And that's what retirement is all about.  When one can do that, it makes working worthwhile.

I was really tired last night after going out to find the retirement gift for my boss.  Came home, fixed dinner, we ate.  Sat on the couch while hubby watched the basketball game (although I was trying to read... 'I'll keep the volume low'.... I finally gave up).  I was in bed by 8:30-ish.  Couldn't stay awake then, and had trouble staying awake this morning.  Feel just so tired today and I'm not sure why.  My Fitbit tracker says I slept 7 hr 5 minutes (added in the 30 minutes I fell back to sleep when I came in here!)  It shows my sleep score is 80 - which is very good, considering it is usually in the low 70's except when hubby's tossing and turning keeps me awake and knocks it down to the 60's.    So I slept good last night - even with only 59 minutes of deep sleep, 4 hr 13 min of light sleep, 1 hr 53 min of REM and 48 min awake.  It's pretty cool had my Fitbit measures it all while I sleep.

Well, this Lady of ...... I forget what our names are.... I'll have to go look at the certificate when I get out of here.    Maybe I'll remember to tell you tomorrow.

In the meantime, I'm the Lady of this house and this Lady needs to get up from this chair, get showered and dressed, and ready for work.

Hmmm.  I wonder if other countries do this.  That would be cool, wouldn't it!  England would be a nice place to be a Lady.  Or Ireland.  Or Italy.  Or New Zealand.  I'll have to research those.

You don't have to bow or curtsey when you see me.  I'll get over it.  Only God deserves our bows and curtseys.   He alone is the KING of the world.  He owns it all.  So that makes our citizenship not of this world.... but of Heaven.

Don't forget that.

Blessings!

I just noticed... you figured out labels for your posts!

Yeah - I think that was what made me comment last week about it - I saw the 'label' note on the upper right of the blog. duh. I've been doing this since 2011 and I just now decided to see it? To use it? Surely I saw it before....
