Where do you find strength?

We watched a very good message from Pastor Jentezen Franklin from Free Chapel church yesterday morning. He spoke on I Samuel 30:6. Well, 30:1-6 were all the versus but focus was on verse 6.

6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.

You would need to look it up and read the story (www.Biblegateway.com) in I Samuel 30, but a rough outline of it would be David and his men had been out raiding and when they returned, they saw smoke where their homes were. Their women and children had been taken captive and their homes burnt down. They were all exhausted from their raids and here they come home to nothing. Why they wanted to stone David, I haven't figured out, but isn't that what we do? We blame someone else for our troubles?

But the key part of verse 6 is this: But David found strength in the Lord his God.

What is holding it together for you?

I choose to believe that my God is for me and He will see me through any circumstance. I rely on His strength. I like what my father-in-law told me years ago -

"God said it. I believe it. That settles it."
