Encouraged.... to say the least....

I was surprised to find a response from my son this morning on the post I did yesterday. In yesterday's post I was trying to decide whether or not to delete this blog and just go to Word to journal. But, my son encouraged me to keep the blog so I shall.

I know I haven't written for awhile and I felt like I didn't have much to write about. Plus I have been extremely busy here at work. But now a lot of my responsibilities have been moved to other people (and I am grateful!!) and I have time to 'breathe' and do other things. In fact, some days I get bored, for I don't have enough to do.

And with the news that we lost our bid and now about 130 people will be looking for new jobs, I am grateful for my current position. I am not really worried about my position for I can transfer back to my 'old' area.... and my boss has already given me a promotion, so they can't really take that away from me. It's just having to work for a new person, when they get hired, and learn their ways. No one can take the place of my current boss, though. I know she will eventually want me to go with her, but there will be a lot of things to consider before I make that move. Currently the 'new' company will need 3 admins - and I am now an executive assistant.... so will see how that works out. It's just a title, but if I can make more $$, I can certainly go back to an admin title.

I think what bothers me so much is the "unknown". I like to be 'in the know'. I have made a lot of friends here who will be looking for new jobs over the next few months. Some will wait to get their severance package before looking. Some will go before that. I don't imagine I will be offered anything because I will move to another department. And, I don't want to brag at all, but they need me. I seem to be the 'go to' for everyone in this building. The admins come to me with questions, managers and directors, and even VPs come to me with questions. I change out the printers, I work with caterers, I reserve the rooms, I do a lot. But I am not indispensable. They would struggle a short time if I left, but someone would step in and do an even better job. maybe. :-)

I was awake most of the night last night for I had a heavy burden on my mind that I was praying for. In my quiet time this morning, I fell asleep. It does happen occasionally, but I'm usually not holding a cup of hot coffee in my hand. I think I had just dozed off when I was awakened with the sound of water being poured out..... I'm looking around, listening to see if it was raining outside, which it was not. I'm trying to figure out what that noise was, where did it come from, when I see the coffee cup in my hand. Empty. Well, except for one swallow. Yes, I had tilted the cup to where it poured out on the carpet. Not a big deal; I had a towel on my treadmill so I soaked it up. Had to wait to get to work to have my first cup of coffee.

Admired my roses and yard again as I pulled out of the driveway this morning. The landscaper was there yesterday so the yard really looks nice. I love spring. Even our orange tree is beginning to get the honeysuckle blossoms on it. It's a horrible time for those with allergies. In fact, I have a some allergies for every time I go outside I am having a runny nose and coughing and clearing my throat. Once I'm at work I seem to be fine. And I need to get to work. Hope you have a good day.

Blessings!

I know my Wife always Admires your roses, and we are still trying to get some as well-grown as yours....

Hope PT didn't catch the coffee you spilled on the carpet...

Keep being anxious... for your next great one....

I can't wait for my next "great one"... and no, PT hasn't seen it yet.... I got the stain pretty much out. We need to have the carpet shampooed anyway... whenever I get things cleaned up so that we can. I'd rather do it myself, however..... sigh.... She should see my roses now.... they are all in full bloom right now. :-)
