I haven't had a chance to write lately, although I had made my mind up I was going to start writing a few things again. Life has a way of interfering - and it continues to do so. This morning has already been a crazy. Geez - as I write that I got an IM from Corporate to check for an appointment for our chief medical officer. And it is only 7:45AM here! Of course Corporate is in St. Louis so it is a couple hours ahead, I think. This time zone stuff drives me crazy.
We don't know much more information than we did before on the transition of losing jobs and moving on. My boss is still waiting to hear from the company who won the bid.... they are trying to figure out a salary to offer her. I know she won't move on until the middle of May or so because bonuses are to be paid out by then. She deserves her bonus for she always gives this company her best. She probably won't transfer me to another department until she gets ready to move on. But, I still am a bit uneasy because although she can justify my existence here, they really do not need me, unless the new person they hire for another area is totally helpless, and from what I hear, she is also very self-sufficient. I don't know if I will be caught in a future rift with the company or if I will survive this year out. If I can get past September, I may be ok. If not, I'll be looking for another job as well. At least until my boss gets settled in her new job, and then she wants me to come work with her. AND, it will depend on the location of the offices, but if they are in another city, the answer is no as I drive 21 miles one way now. I saw one of the corporate offices is about 11 miles closer to my house.... which I would seriously consider - even if I had to take a cut in pay. Miles traveled each day... adds up quickly.
I got 'egged' last night. We went out to dinner with friends and on the way back, someone threw an egg out of a moving vehicle and struck the frame on the left side of the windshield. It was a loud noise and we didn't know at first what had happened, but I quickly figured it out. Especially when the gooey stuff was flowing down the window. Silly kids just goofing off.... I'd rather it be an egg versus a rock or something that would do damage. Of course if the egg had hit the windshield with force, it probably could have broken it. Oh well. Hubby got most of it off last night when we got home, but I noticed this morning some was still on the window and car. He will get it off tonight.... cause he has to take my van in to get the left front headlight fixed, which I noticed went out on the way to work this morning.
We are excitedly awaiting the birth of our great-granddaughter. I've been praying she will arrive this week so that our daughter-in-law can have more time with her since they live in another city. Plus I understand Grandpa and Uncles are planning to go there for Easter... it would be nice to have baby for the family to enjoy together. I can't wait to see her, although I know it will be a few weeks before she will make her appearance up by us. Plus she has other relatives that will be longing to see her as well. Being a great-grandparent doesn't carry extra privileges, but it does some. :-) I would love to make a trip down, but it just isn't possible.
Life is changing for a lot of us. Some fight the changes that must be made... some just go along with it. Life happens, we get older, and changes need to be made. I know I can't do some things like I used to - although I don't want to just give up and not do anything. But my life is changing too. I don't always like it, but I don't have much choice....
After numerous interruptions, I reckon I need to get busy.... need to get some emails sent out and meetings set up. Life is always a....
Blessing!
