This will be a short post for I have many, many, emails here at work to go through. It looks like they have 'changed' my entire job process in the week I have been gone. With all the emails going back and forth among people, I am having to print the majority so that I can sort out what has changed and what do I need to do in order to get things completed correctly. Sigh. And there are a lot of them.
Today already isn't starting off too well; I left my computer glasses at home. At least I think I did, as I can not find them here at my desk. My eyes will be tired before the day is out, sure. Especially with all this 'stuff' I have to read and figure out before I start work!
Well, I completed the 13.1 One American 500 Festival Mini Marathon along with my little sissy. She says she will never do it again; but I am already planning to sign up for next year. Even hubby said last night that he had been thinking about it and has made the decision to train and do it with me next year. I really felt good while walking the Mini - yes, by the end I was tired, but not overly so. And nothing like I was the year before! Perhaps it is because I knew what to expect this year. I enjoyed it, and had hoped to beat my time, but didn't. There is always next year though.
My brother and I walked another 5+ miles yesterday morning before lunch, then he took me to the airport.
Thursday..... yes, I didn't get to finish this yesterday. A coworker who had covered for me while I was gone came in early - and proceeded to tell me how much she missed me! Only because she had to work my stuff, I'm sure! It was an extremely busy day yesterday. I had to wear my regular glasses and by the time I left at 6:45PM, my eyes were burning. I did sleep good last night, and although my eyes are already telling me they are tired (I did find my computer glasses at home and brought them back to the office), I know it will be another busy day today.
Those that can, did. In other words, I think to cover their own jobs, they choose to create more forms. I kid you not. I have been told NOT to use the logs they had me using before I left (that they had already changed), but they have created OTHER logs and advised that I was to use them instead. Sigh. One I did complete; the other I totally forgot about. Not sure how that is going to go over.... will try to re-create what I did that affects that long - but timing myself on phone calls, and how long it takes for me to print a letter, address an envelope, etc. - who really cares?! They are trying to justify hiring another temp to make the phone calls and do the letter printing. Yes, it would free me up some, but it would also take away from this job. I don't think this person knows what she is doing.
AND, since I know someone further up the ladder, I think I will address the issue and give MY viewpoint. They may not act on it, but I know that my suggestions and viewpoints are respected because they make sense. I don't whine and act out because I don't get my way. I state what the issue is as I see it, and how I feel it could be made better. Then, they take my suggestion and enhance it to the big picture. See, it's not all about me. :-)
I'm glad to be home and back on my regular diet. I think I ate only one "home cooked" meal while on vacation. I did buy my Greek yogurt and berries and fixed one shake while at my sisters', and I did eat yogurt and berries one morning for breakfast while there. But other than that, we were eating things we probably shouldn't be eating! Mexican food, chips and salsa. Actually, I think that was the only time I could say I was 'really bad', for I do love the salt on the chips! But, when I got on the scales to weigh in here at work, I had gained 2.6 pounds. I was bummed! So, I figure I need to double that for this week. Lose the 2.6 pounds I gained, and lose another 2.6 to make up for it. Sigh. If only it was that simple. But, I am back to my regular eating routine so hopefully that will make a difference on weigh in next Wednesday.
As much as I would like to continue chatting this morning, I must get off and get to work. I'm doing extra in the early hours so that I can help others keep caught up. Overtime is nice right now; but I refuse to work at home. I tell them that is how I keep my job and my life separate. When I leave work, I'm done.
Tonight is our small group study and I'm starting the 'Not a Fan' video series with them by Kyle Idleman. It's an awesome study and I get to lead it. I've missed facilitating classes; just haven't done it for awhile. Need to get myself together and do it again. I learn so much when I do.
Hope that you have a great day! It's good to be home.
Blessings!
