I'm waiting on contact from my daughter to say she is ready to go shopping. Still need to return some Christmas items and she has offered to go with me. My sense of style is zilch - I prefer to be comfortable, but that means I don't always go together. But then, comfort is always good. With working now, although I don't have to 'dress up', I do need to look professional in business casual. Looking forward to spending time with her.
Hubby and I went to breakfast at McDonalds this morning. We had decided to do Starbucks last week, but I didn't feel like cooking breakfast this morning as I woke up with a headache. After breakfast and chatting at McDonalds we went on to church where the Asante Children's Choir from Africa was there to perform. They were excellent.
During breakfast this morning, hubby and I tried to determine what we intend to fast for the first 21 days of January. Since I fix BBQ ribs on January 1, he really didn't want to give up meat - at least on the lst, but to start the fast on the 2nd. I assured him I was one step ahead of him. I will fix us ribs on December 31st, therefore we can start on January 1 and won't feel deprived. ;-) We discussed how we can do this - do without most meats (if not all, still under discussion) - it really is a sacrifice. But our relationship with God is so important to us that we want to do this. I know we don't have to do this at all - and we may just choose to give up breads. For us both that will be extremely difficult all by itself. We are still processing specifics. Have another day to get it all down.
It is overcast and cold here today. I say cold because I don't 'do cold' and don't like being cold. Our gas bill will be a bit higher this winter for I've had hubby turn on the fireplace in the evenings to take the chill out of the front room. Then we laugh at Marley for her bed is up against the fireplace and she will put her back up against the hearth, getting as close as she can to the warmth of the fire.
Marley. She sure is getting to be a handful. She has gotten a lot bigger than I anticipated. She wants our attention all the time and does pretty much what she wants to do. If we try to correct her, it is like "oh yeah, just try and make me". She is so funny in the mornings when she wakes up. She whines to go out - does her business and comes running back to the door to be let in. Once in she makes a beeline for my back room. By the time I get there she is already on the futon, waiting on me to arrive. When I sit down she will snuggle up next to me and chew on whatever is there for her, and then will try to get my attention by getting in my face, putting her paws on whatever I'm reading. So I get up and get her a rawhide to chew on and she is happy until it's gone and it starts over again. Luckily I'm usually done by that time.
Well, I don't have anything to share today so will hush. Need to get ahold of my daughter to see what the schedule is. Hope you have a good day.
Blessings!
