Computers. Having problems with computers. Definitely not fun. My computer saga from the previous email - they gave me a new computer and took my old one away. I was missing several things. And several programs would not work in the new computer. The next day I demanded my old computer back. At least I could do the majority of the programs - and when it would lock up, I'd just hit control-alt-delete and move on.
All week this week it has done really well. Not too many lock-ups and it seemed to be much better. Then yesterday happened. And yes, again, the IT Wish whatever it is was downstairs. They had to of jinxed me. My computer froze big time and even hitting control/alt/delete did not change anything. It was totally frozen. So downstairs I went with my computer. They got it un-frozen and ran a program check on it.
So I bring it back upstairs and am trying to schedule appointments - and hit the skype button - and locked it up again. So once again I go downstairs to have them fix it. They got it unlocked then ran a repair and said that there was a corrupted file in Outlook so they disabled it. No problem. Until I tried to do another skype meeting and found out it was skype that they had disabled and I put it on 99.9% of my meetings. So they had to enable it.
Finally, hopefully, it would work. Ten minutes later - my visio quit working. The only way I found that out was my boss wanted me to work on an organizational chart I had created. It wouldn't open. Visio wouldn't open. So back down to the IT desk again for the third time.
The IT Tech says you are getting a new computer. I said no, you need to fix this one.
This morning he replaced my computer with a new one and sat down with me and made sure that I had everything I needed. Much different than before. He exported my files, he set up my H drive so that I could easily access it. He told me how to sign in at home (I was signing in before I added VPN - and I need to do it VPN then sign in) so that all my folders would pull in. He was very nice - and thus far, I am basically happy. I told the tech that I am basically a very simple person - just give me what I need to do my job then leave me alone. I don't need bells and whistles.
More things to talk about later, but I'm just too tired right now. Didn't get to sleep until after 1:30AM and I'm exhausted. Women's confernece is tonight and tomorrow. Glad I'm going - no responsibilities until I get back home tomorrow night - once I get to the hotel that is. A night alone, quiet, peaceful. I can sleep (which is probably what I will do), I can crochet/knit (of course I brought mine with me!) or I can read. Right now I think I will sleep.
With that - I have work to focus on. Hope you are having a good day.
Blessings!
