Why can't they just leave things alone??

I am so frustrated. My work computer has been locking up daily at different times - no matter what program I'm in - ever since the company uploaded Microsoft 365. It has create so much havoc for me. I have tried to work around all the lock-ups but a couple weeks ago I finally decided maybe it was an easy fix and I just needed to get it done.

I wish I had never let them touch my computer.

The first tech says 'oh let me scrub your programs and reload everything that should do it.' Well, it didn't. I lost some programs and he had to re-add them.

A few days later I put in another ticket. Same tech. Oh, let me scrub your computer again, that should do it. Well, it didn't. I lost some programs and he had to re-add the ones I noticed were gone.

Last Thursday they had an "IT Wish Group" down in the lobby and I actually notified the first tech and asked - since he told me the next step would be doing a re-image on my computer if it locked up again (it did). I asked if the techs downstairs could re-image my comptuer and get it working. Next step, right?

Wrong. Of course the tech I got said - oh not, that's not the problem, we need to rebuild your profile. So I do not have a clue what she did, but she 'rebuilt' my profile for outlook. When she finally finished this all day process (and throwing me way behind in my work), she got Outlook to come up long enough for me to discover I lost all my calendars and rooms I have for easy access. Too bad so sad was her basic response - not in those words, but attitude. I finally told her I was signing off before I started crying. She has no clue how much work that was going to entail to get my outlook back to where I had it.

I packed the computer up and came home. So here I am, on a Sunday, hoping to get some work done - meetings scheduled, etc, that I was unable to do Friday. I set my computer up, turn it on, sign in and it comes up. Then I click the outlook button and the blue box comes up - "loading profile" and that's it. It has never come up all day. I am so upset and having conversations of what I'd like to tell them. But I created a new ticket for IT and then I called the help desk to see if there was something they could do.

Of course not. They wouldn't touch it because the tech had not closed out the ticket she had created. Which means, I can not get into Outlook today.... I have to wait until tomorrow with that specific tech comes to work and hopefully gets the message that my Outlook will not come up - and she will get to screw up my computer that much more.

Getting a nwe computer won't help - although that thought crossed my mind. She has screwed up my profile so badly that if I try to sign on another computer the same thing will happen. I have some things to do in Excel so have been working on them - but it is lockign up on me some. I'm afraid to put in a ticket to get that fixed.

I think this tech was just trying to impress me - and she hasn't at all. I am so overloaded and overwhelmed at work and already and now this. Praying for a quick recovery of my Outlook in the morning so that I can get my work done. groan.

That's all I have right nwo.... I'm mentally exhausted dealing with this.

Hope your day is a

Blessing...md

I feel your angst. Our major distributor decided Labor Day weekend to change over their whole system, and web-page. As of today, none of it works still, and their delivery, was wrong paperwork, etc. I'm frustrated. My bosses are pissed. And nothing is getting fixed.
