It must be a 'sluggish day' for every one and every thing!

I did not want to get up this morning. I mean, I really did not want to get up this morning! It feels like I am completely wiped out, slowed down, sluggish. Judging from my son's blog from yesterday, he is feeling the same way, thinking it is too much sleep. Mine is probably from not enough! I think, for me, it is more Christmas last week and that hustle and bustle, then, since I choose to celebrate the New Year with those I love and prepare a meal, I also have my energy poured into that day. Add working into that - lack of sleep, last minute things - and I'm sluggish. I really had trouble waking up this morning. However, I got around and was at work before 7AM. Got the coffee made, water for my boss, my former boss, and myself (filled up our glasses) - and tried to bring up my computer.

Gads. Talk about sluggish! I'm trying to get to the Indianapolis Star to check out an obituary for a friend and former brother-in-law. Didn't know him real well as I have lived here in Phoenix for the past 30 years. And he was a l-o-n-g time ago. Like I'm guessing, 25 years or so. Anyway, the system just would not move to get me where I wanted to go. I tried to get into my blog - it never would come up. I finally shut every thing down and brought it back up. It's still sluggish, but at least I'm getting there.

Today is going to be an extremely busy day as we have urgent work to complete for the State. Lots of detail work and I need to focus on it. In fact, I have about 20x5 things I need to be printing and scanning this morning. I will be doing that all morning. But I don't mind it. I work with an awesome boss and she is right in there as well, doing the tedious things that she has to complete for this project. She makes coming to work fun.

One of hubby's Christmas presents came in yesterday. From China no less. sigh. I ordered from Amazon on a whim - an Arizona Cardinal iphone case. Thought it was something he would enjoy. It finally arrived yesterday. At least I could truly surprise him. In fact, he forgot to get the mail yesterday and I happened to notice I didn't see the mail on the counter this morning and asked about the mail - he pulled it out of the mailbox. So his day started out really good with a present.

Speaking of presents - sigh - I'm still working on the quilt I wanted to give to my son and his beautiful wife. In fact, I DID give it to them. Unfinished. I had worked so hard on it the past few months that I really wanted them to get it for Christmas. If I had been smart, I would have taken my time to finish it and put it back for next year. I would like to get it done this weekend. It is just tedious work and a lot of hand sewing. Yes, every bit of it is hand-sewn. I'm not the greatest seamstress, and my threads are easily seen, but it is the love I put in it that I hope they see, and not the work itself. I think I have a little more than one side of binding to sew down, then do some touch up where I had to pull some seams, then I should be finished.

And I do need to get started on my work - it has to be completed by noon today and I want to get it to my boss within the next couple hours so that she can complete her things with it. So with that - hope that you have a wonderful day - and a great weekend. Plan some fun family time. Pop popcorn and watch a movie together. Anyone want pretzels? I have three bags left from Christmas - need to get rid of them! Actually, I may finish up a gift I was going to give the kids and never got to it - too busy. I always plan so much I want to do for my kids - and just don't get everything done cause I end up having too much to do there at the last. Will have to ponder that. :-) Now I have you wondering!

ok - need to get my day going - it's 7:30-ish and want to get started. Have a blessed day - and an awesome weekend!

Blessings!
