It's Christmas Eve!

Ok - here is where I start getting excited about Christmas!  I mean, I already was looking forward to the day, and all the Christmas festivities, but I don't get crazy about it...... until today!  Tomorrow I get to see the faces of my grandchildren - and children - when they open their special gifts.  I've done some different things this year - it will be interesting to see what kind of 'impact' it will have on them.  Just trying to pique the interest of my children who read this!  Wait until you see what Santa has brought you! 

All my shopping is completed, the baking done, all my wrapping is done.... and now I am at the 'I just can't wait stage"!  Oh, I guess I still need to make my pineapple cheese ball for Tricia - she has asked for it for Christmas.  Silly girl.  I know she loves it, and I am happy to make it for her.  I'll get it made up this afternoon so that it will be perfect for tomorrow.  

We attend our Christmas Eve service tonight at 5:30 - I get to sing with the worship team!  How cool is that!  I love to sing praises to our King - and what more perfect way to celebrate His birthday than singing carols of worship!   I wonder if I could dare to pray for a better voice to praise Him with... naw, He made my voice the way He wanted it.... He didn't say 'sing to Him with a good voice', He said to "make a joyful noise unto the Lord".   Joyful noise.  That I can do!  What about you?

I was writing out my prayers this morning and what I am going to ask God for during my fast at the beginning of the year.  Did you know that He really does want you to ask for things?  Well, perhaps not material things, but perhaps better attitudes, humbleness, gentle spirit, freedom from gossip, financial blessings - and many others.  These things He would love to help you with!   If you are thinking of fasting with us at the first of the year, begin to think what you would like to change in you, and make a list of those things, and of family members needs as well.  Be confident of this, if you pray with a sincere heart, He will hear you and just may grant you the request! 

As you are rushing about today to finish that last minute shopping, the last minute gift card, the last minute item from the grocery store, don't forget to take possibly that 'last minute' to thank God for the birth of His Holy Son, Jesus, Who came to die, that we can have enternal life with Him.
