We were invited over to a granddaughter's last night to watch her little 'firefighter' go trick or treating. We don't celebrate Halloween, although we did for years. I remember the grandchildren all coming over to get their candy and I treasure those memories. That has - it seems - been many years ago. And, of course, out here in 'old folks country', we do not get trick or treaters. I got to enjoy some texting with my oldest son for a bit while there. He makes me smile and even laugh out loud at times. But I love it most when he ends 'I love you'. Some days I really need to hear that.
We didn't stay long and came home for hubby to turn on the baseball game and fall asleep in his chair. I went through some tea books and then told him I was going to bed. And I slept good last night - which leaves no explanation for why I fell back to sleep for over an hour in here this morning. Sigh. I just had my physical and all is well - could it have been all the fresh air last night as we sat outside? Or is it that it's cooler in the mornings and I'm buried under my blanket when I come in here? Or is it that I'm lazy and just want to sleep more? I don't know, but I gotta shake this extra sleeping off! A nap during the day is one thing, but sleeping 7 hours and then sleeping another hour in here and messing up my time with God - unacceptable.
My sister text'd last nght which I didn't answer - and she text'd again this morning while in here. When I checked my emails, she had sent one there too - she watched the service last night with Perry Stone. And she watched it alone. She is like me - those kind of messages one needs to watch (well, in our cases of these spouses), we need to watch alone. I don't even like watching a regular service with hubby! Why? Because I see him watching me to see what I will do. I mean, like, during worship. Now I love to worship and I will sing along and I will raise my hands. And when I do, he does. If I don't, he doesn't. To me I find it distracting when someone 3-4 ft from me is copying me - does that make sense? Anyway, I may wait until tomorrow morning when I am alone and watch last night's service. She said it 'changed' her. It was on breaking generational curses, so I'm sure it did! I really do believe we have some generational curses passed down through our family. I want to watch it alone, for I need to deal with what I even pass on down my line. Do you know that you curse your child when you call them stupid or lazy? And if you say it often enough, they believe it. I learned that a long time ago. I have always built my children up - they are my pride and joy - because I was told I was stupid - and we wont' go in to other words used. But those are curses. We are to build up people in our lives, not curse them.
My mind always goes back to 2013 when my sister said very, very cruel and hateful things to me. I have forgiven her, but I never broke the 'curses' she put on me. And that is why I can't forget them. The harsh words always come back in my insecure and weak moments, and my heart is wounded again. That year changed our relationship, as you know. I've told you often enough. (Sorry about that, but it keeps coming back to my mind) Anyway, I need to listen to what Perry Stone says about breaking curses so that I can finally be set free from those words. In fact, if you have words that were cruel and hateful spoken over you, I suggest you go to FreeChapel.org and watch the October 31st service with Perry Stone.
Ephesians 1:15-23 (NKJV): "Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all."
Jesus is our All in All. Dennis Jernigan wrote a song many years ago titled 'You are my All in All'. I absolutely love that song. Jesus died for you and me, He died for the worst vile person we could ever find.... and He rose again on the third day to show us that not only does He love us unto death, but that we will have life with Him in eternity.
So many people scoff that off - thinking that when they die - whatever.... but I don't want me - nor my children and their children and their children and their children.............. to think that way. I want them to know they will live with Jesus in eternity! Do you not want that for your children? For your family? We will die at some point. Where we go after that is up to us. I choose to be with Jesus. I hope you make that same choice.
Blessings!
