It was a lazy day....

I did go to church yesterday, although I heard it 'live' while hubby was watching it.  His coughing was worse than the day before, and he was getting hoarse - by last night, he was coughing frequently.  I had him 'dope up' on the cough meds.  When he goes to pick up a prescription today, I 'suggested' he ask the pharmacist for something to take; what I bought doesn't seem to have worked for him.  Not sure why the meds haven't worked; he has 'rested' a lot...

Back to work Monday for sure.  I have timecards to approve, but I think that's it.  Need to check on how things are going with getting my new boss on board.  I've been glancing at work emails all weekend and haven't had anything that was critical for me to do. Which is always a good thing.

Can you tell already that I don't have much to talk about today?

Church was really good and it was based on I Peter 1. Several people asked where hubby was and how we were; I shared we both had been sick the past few weeks and I was much better, but hubby was not. Message was so good, as they usually are when Pastor John speaks.  It's a 4 week series on 1 Peter which started yesterday.  If you want to hear a good message in 1 Peter - check out Reclaim Church on You Tube (it's the one with the black flag facing backwards.  There are a few other 'Reclaim' Churches so that is how to identify 'ours'.  They have another 'Growth Track' session coming up on the 2nd Saturday in November and hubby and I plan to attend.  Pastor George is going to lead it and it is going to be on prophecy.

My time is getting away from me this morning since I didn't get up until a little after 5a.  I blame that on difficulty sleeping.... and going to bed at 10:30p.... got into NCIS shows we hadn't seen before.  But, on a good note, we didn't turn the TV on until about 5:30 or so.  I kept debating on going to see Ms. Vicky... but I was so comfortable on the couch I just didn't get up.  Did get several rows on the 'multi-color blanket' I'm crocheting.  I wonder if anyone would want it....  Once I'm finished I'll decide if I will keep it or give it away.  I have a long ways to go!

I'm going to go 'full force' Virta starting today.  That mean, low carb eating as much as I can.  I really do want to lose this weight and I am asking myself the question - "why did you start this during the holidays?!"   But, in doing so, it is also one way to rein in my tendencies to eat cookies that I bake. And yes, I still ate two-three cookies yesterday.  I'm going to ship a box of the cookies off to my sister sometime today, and I have a bag to take to Morgan.  That woman has more will power than anyone I have ever met!  I'm only giving her 4 cookies of each batch because you know how she eats?  She will allow herself one cookie, unless it is a big one, then only a portion of it.  That girl don't eat!  Although I do know her 'weakness' and when I make the chocolate no bake bars, she does indulge a little bit more.  Seriously, when I ask her, she will just take a bite or eat one if small.  I can give her a 3x4 container of eggs ole and you know what?  She is still eating it a week later!  I didn't know it would last that long!

And I may just fix up a batch of eggs ole' sometime today.  It may be 'high fat', but it is definitely 'low carb' as well.  Lots of eggs, cottage cheese, butter, cheese, green chilies, and maybe 1/2 cup of flour; depends on what size I make.  That's the only carb I add.  Since I stopped at Mr. Goodcents for lunch yesterday and brought home the #5 8 inch for both hubby and I, we didn't eat dinner last night.  Gasp! I don't think I cooked all weekend - other than all the cookies!  What's up with that?!  At least I can pull down my Keto cookbooks and Low Carb as that is what plan Virta is putting me on to lose weight and lower my blood pressure.  Not that you are interested, my glucose was 102 this morning (goal is to get it below 100), and my blood pressure is 129/82 with a heart rate of 56.  But Dr. Mark says my bottom number is off 10 points so subtract 10 (syncing it with the one he uses in the office - the old fashioned one, not digital) and that makes it 129/72.  He would like it below 120 if possible.  Personally, based on what it has been the past few weeks average, 129/72 is pretty good as far as I'm concerned. Of course I've been sitting here doing my quiet time so that has calmed me down. :-)  I am NOT sharing my weight!

Well, I had to pause and get on the work computer - and got the timecards approved - and then paused to make eggs ole and get it in the oven this morning.  Now I'm back for a few before going to turn down the oven temperature and then let the eggs ole finish baking. Yum!   Now, where was I?

Oh yeah, Dr. Mark and my weight and blood pressure.  Ok, enough about that.  Moving on!

I have Morgan at 1p today - HIIT.  I'm going to be moving my body around some this morning to loosen it up for that.  Glad it isn't early morning - my body just doesn't wake up that fast, but alas, she sometimes does put me at 8a.  I think part of that is because she knows I don't care if we start a few minutes late - which is what usually happens.  She gets there early enough, but the kids care doesn't open until 8a, and she brings her baby (whom I get to see real quick on those mornings) and has to change her diaper and get her settled in the kids care before she can come out and train.  I don't mind; if I'm in the middle of an exercise, she will also run over a few minutes for me to finish.  It all works out.  My next scheduled appointment is on Thursday at 9:30a, but it's just 'core'.  I do enjoy my trainings in spite of how much I may - or may not - hurt afterwards.  If I tell her I hurt, she smiles cause that means she did her job.  If I say I wasn't hurting like I should be, then she knows she needs to step it up. She's already told me my core is strong enough now she is moving into the advanced ones because I don't hurt afterwards.  I should never have told her, right?

We have dinner out with friends tonight right after work.  I am needing to be more careful; doesn't mean I have to just eat salads, but I'm glad I do like salads!  We're going to Chili's and their salads are way too many calories.  Will have to check out what I can get.  If I'm going to go to the trouble of weighing and pricking my finger each morning for Virta, I may as well 'do this' and get down the 20 or so pounds so that I will be in the routine, right?  Actually, I really would like to lose 30-35 pounds, but 20 is a good start. :-)

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

We are so blessed that God inspired His people to write down words to form the Bible, that we will know how to live.  I was reading this morning in Isaiah about how back then people would take down a tree, burn a section of it for warmth, then 'create' a form of some sort, then set it up and bow down to it to worship.  Something they created, and call it god.  How fortunate we are that we know Who is God, and that He lives inside each of us!  He is not a statue to be bowed down to.  His Word shows us how to live, commandments that bring us good and not harm.  Oh that we all would choose to live according to His Word and trust Him to guide us each day!  Lord, help us teach one to be obedient to You in all things.  Grant us wisdom in the choices we make.  Give us the wisdom to be holy, as You are Holy, courage to stand up for what is right, and knowledge of Your Word to obey.

Have a simply amazing Monday!  Be still, and listen for His voice today; you just might hear Him say, "This is the way wherein I choose for you to walk; walk in it and be blessed."

Blessings!
