I need to be renewed and refreshed!

Have you ever felt that way?  That you are so tired physically and mentally that you just need to step away from life and rest?  Yeah, I think that is where I'm at right now.  I'm tired.  I didn't mind the drive to Mesa yesterday, but coming back it was bumper to bumper most of the way with westbound traffic.  People get crazy when they are in bumper to bumper traffic - have you noticed?  They decide to change lanes at the last minute  - or take exits right at the exit!  I was tired when I got home yesterday, but it was a good day.  As mentioned, the trip down was good.  I got to see my favorite boss and met some new people.  I tried a few times to see my male boss who was in a meeting in another room - and we did chat - but he took off before we connected.  He is way too busy for his own good and I am waiting for him to crash and burn.  I did meet a new hire that I am now supporting as well.

Since I was gone the majority of the day yesterday I did not get much done for work.  I walked in the door here at home and hubby is sitting in his recliner.  I paused as I walked through and he says "can't you sit down and talk for a little bit?"  Uh, no.  I've been gone since 9AM and it is now 3:30PM and I need to clear messages.  He was not happy I would not sit down and just chat with him.  I came in here and finished my emails and was out there by about 4:15PM - and he proceeded to tell me about his day.  He did all the laundry. He decided he was hungry so drove to a restaurant and had a nice lunch (all by himself!).  He has been alone all day.  And he can't stand being alone.  Lord, help him if I should die first!  Dinner ended up being a SF butterfinger shake from One Stop Nutrition.

Got a phone call from the daughter shortly after 'dinner' and she and the SIL were here to work on the courtyard.  They came over earlier while I was gone and painted some on the courtyard.  Guess I got the wrong color of paint - but this is nice too.  He put on two coats of paint last night and they left it to dry overnight.  They will be back either today or tomorrow with some of the patio furniture I had purchased. They want to have something here for me for Mother's Day - which is Sunday.  It will be nice to sit out while it is still cool in the mornings and (sometimes) cool at night.  I'm looking forward to having it all put together.

Guess we will be getting family photos taken in July when we go to New Mexico.  All the families are to wear a certain color.  One granddaughter has chosen purple for her family (bet you can't guess which one that was!).  I'll let the other get their colors before I (we) decide.  We will probably end up with Red.  I told my daughter I wanted to wear black as it makes me look 'skinny' (I wish).  She said no.  I don't care what color; I'll figure something out.  Maybe I can find something with a mixture of their colors?  That could be fun.  I have plenty of time.

Going through my closet yesterday morning to clean up to go to the office, I realized that I don't really have any 'nice' clothes anymore.  My t-shirts are getting all worn and starting to fade and I need to pull those out and donate.  My dresses are what I bought 4-5 years ago for the majority of them - I'm sure I can't wear some of them - still - but I did wear one last Sunday to church that I hadn't worn in 3 years.  I am picky on my blouses and need to get some nice ones and some nice dress slacks for times I need to go to the office.   Sounds like a weekend project, doesn't it?  But, I have other things I need to do first.

Romans 8:1-2 (NKJV):  There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Have you ever stopped to think how many times 'flesh' gets in the way of your walk with Jesus?  To be honest, I deal with the flesh every single day.  I want my own way. I want to do things my way. I want things done my way. I , I, I - my flesh steps out in front and says "me, me me!"  Do you find yourself in this predicament as well?

When I went to Mesa yesterday, I found myself making comments that weren't always nice.  I mean, they weren't bad, but they were things that could have been left unsaid.  Simple things like "I'm mad at my male boss".  I shouldn't have verbalized that.  And yes, I'm mad at him because he doesn't listen to me.

Oh my goodness - there is another coyote walking down the road.  I saw two yesterday walking around. They are mangy looking and just strolling around the yards, hoping to find a meal, I'm sure.

But back to my comment - I shouldn't have said anything.  Not that anyone was really listening.  He doesn't realize that I will now have to attend the board meeting at 6AM just like him!  He didn't consider the impact switching out the board meetings (mine was at 1PM) would cause.  The other person is thrilled (she is in CO and got paid OT for one hour cause they are one hour ahead of us). I don't get paid overtime, but I can take time off without docking myself.  Which I do not abuse.  Anyway - things sometimes get said that shouldn't be.

I need to quit letting my flesh tell me what to do and let my feelings rule over what I should do.  I need to walk according to the Spirit.  It's easy to do when one is refreshed and rested.  But, I was tired, - no excuses though - and I had some runoff of the mouth.  Guilty today.  But I did have a nice lunch with my favorite boss before heading home.

So how are you handling walking in the Spirit - or walking in the flesh?  Do you do what your feelings and emotions tell you to do - or follow what Jesus says to do?  Think about it.  I want to shed the flesh and walk in the Spirit.  What about you?

And with that - I got to get off here - it's already 7AM!

Blessings!
