Well, trying something different.....

I'm at work, and I think I finally figured out how I can type on my blog. Now to see how it comes out when I'm finished. There is a "Compose / HTML" section on this blog; normally I don't have to do anything, I can just start typing. But, I selected HTML and it's letting me type - so let's see if that works! Here it is Tuesday and already I'm tired! We aren't suppose to work overtime anymore - well, guess you need to tell that to my work load! I left at 6:15PM last night and I left work in my folder. Oh well. It is what it is. I told my director I don't have a choice; I either work the overtime (and keep it down), or I leave the work. She said I could work. It, meaning the overtime, may stop soon. Hopefully. Well, I do need the money, but, I want my life back more. My temp who started a couple weeks ago hasn't been here much the past two weeks because her father died. She missed Thursday and Friday last week because of the funeral. She didn't come in yesterday - for what reason I do not know. I expected her to show up. If she doesn't show up today, then I am going to strongly suggest they find another temp who can be here on a daily basis. I can understand wanting to be off for the funeral, etc., but if you want to work, and you are already a temp employee wanting a permanent position, well, you take off what you need to take off. The company only gives 3 days for funerals anyway. I am supposed to be on vacation next week. The first three days we are going to 'head out of Dodge' and just relax. I have a doctor's appointment in the morning and meetings in the afternoon on Thursday. BUT, with not having anyone trained to do my job, I may be working next week. I told my director I will discuss with her tomorrow afternoon on how I feel about this temp and if she can do it. Right now the answer is no, she can't. I understand her sorrow, but if you want to work, you have to focus and get out of it and get back to work.n Hubby is in agreement I may need to cancel for next week, and we will go the following week. Will see. I hope we can go this next week; I'm really looking forward to resting, reading and relaxation. My 3 R's. :-) Had a soft rain falling as I drove in to work this morning. Just got my weather text that said there will be showers all day. I'm grateful God stopped the showers long enough I could get inside the office building. Today I brought in salad for everyone. I'm silly, I guess, but in lieu of a "Nova's Lunch Party" this year I am bringing in something every day for us to munch on. Yesterday I brought in a cheeseball and crackers and some puffed rice cakes. Today is salad. I'm thinking Taco Soup for tomorrow, but am not sure. I kind of make the decision on the way home. I don't tell anyone it is my birthday week; only those who have known me for a long time know what I'm doing. Next year though, I will just do it all on one day. I didn't feel I had been here long enough to do something like that - don't know very many people outside of my area. My neck is doing much better than it was last Friday, but I still feel twinges of pain ever so often. My work phone has been on my right and every time I had to get on the phone yesterday (which was often), I would hurt my neck. So I moved my phone to the left side of the computer, which is somewhat awkward as I am right handed, but it forces me to turn and face the phone so that I don't hurt my neck. Unless the left side starts to hurt. Overall, it is much, much better than it was. I'm trying to sit up straighter too, so that I'm not slouching at the computer. I'm rambling now because I didn't think I could do my blog today so hadn't thought of anything to write about. Today is my brother-in-law's 65th birthday. Yes, I did send him a text and told him Happy Birthday Old Man. Why Not? He's older than me! He responded with it is his Medicare birthday. I told him yeah, and I'm working to help pay his social security! I hope he appreciates it! Need to get my desk straightened up and ready for work, although I still have a little while before time to start. Oh heck, I need to get these things done that I didn't do last night so I'm just going to start on them. Phooey on getting permission to work overtime! If I don't these don't get done. So there! Plus I'm going to leave early on Thursday, but will probably have to come back after the meeting. Oh well. It is what it is. Hope you have a blessed and happy day!
