I think I'm allergic to the room...

We ended up with the same room that I got so sick in a few years back.  We breathed deep to make sure that there wasn't any lingering cleaning odors.  None.  And yet, a couple hours later and I was sniffling, blowing my nose, and coughing.  Hubby was not happy about it.  He kept fussing over me all evening.  We watched the news, but stayed in the room once we checked in, and didn't leave. We had stopped at DQ on the way in and had a cheeseburger, fries, a drink and a sundae (hubby) and a blizzard (of course, me) before coming in.  I was still too full to even think about dinner.  Hubby did get hungry but didn't complain too much other than 'I don't see how you can go all day without eating!"

We went to bed at our usual time.  I awoke at 2AM with a pounding sinus headache. (sound familiar? I'm getting anxious a bit now)  I started praying that I wouldn't get sick.  My nose was running and every time I blew my nose, I felt like I was scraping skin off the inside.  It is so dry up here (air-wise) that I think that is the problem.  And cool.  58 degrees out this morning. Yes, I brought a sweater.  After sneezing and blowing my nose during some quiet time, (we didn't get up until 5:30AM) we headed downstairs for breakfast.  So glad we don't have to go out for breakfast!  Scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, make your own waffles.  Enough.  They had coffee.  I was fine.  Got out plates and ate. Sitting downstairs I had no sniffles or coughing or sneezing.  We come back upstairs, and now my nose has started to run again.  I think I'm allergic to this room.  I'll have to remember - do not get room 222 again!  I do love having the executive suite, although it is a bit more.  We have a round table with 4 chairs, a sofa, chair, desk/desk chair, and the bed and a fireplace separated some from the other.  It's like a studio apartment, but bigger. And we have a balcony.  Got to have the balcony.

But I'm not 'sick' although hubby is chomping at the bits to go to the drugstore to get some medicines for me.  He knows how sick I got the last time - and I still have residue from that time in my lungs - and he is scared to death it will get me again.  But I'm fine. Really.  It's like catching a cold - the temperatures are cooler up here, we have the balcony at which we go out and sit and it has a large fir tree right outside the window (am I allergic to it?) and he has the temperature in here at 75.  Which is ok. I can wear a sweater, no problem.  I don't like cold.  I certainly don't like the air conditioner coming on and roaring like a lion. Why are hotel air conditioners so loud?

Right now I'd love to take a nap, but that would scare hubby too much.  I'm dressed, since we went down to eat breakfast.  I do think I'll change my cutoffs to long pants since it is still cool out.  We'll go to Walgreens to find me some medicine - what I don't know - something to keep the symptoms at bay.  Then I know there is a Hobby Lobby nearby.  Nothing we need, but we can browse, can't we?  I may find some Christmas gifts.  We will also check out the mall - or what is may be left of it.  Last time we went through it, there were several stores empty.  We'll stay out and have lunch somewhere and then make our way back home.  But in the meantime, it is only 8:10AM so we have plenty of time to do things.  Hubby is starting his shaving routine and getting cleaned up to go out.  When he is done in the bathroom, I'll do 'my thing'. No, I don't have to shave, but I do need to brush my teeth and put some makeup on.

Got a lot of reading done between my sneezing and coughing last night.  Read some this morning but it's hard to really do my quiet time when someone is in the room with me.  It's distracting.  I like 'shutting the door' and having that total quiet time alone with Jesus in the mornings.  You don't miss it if you don't do it on a regular basis - but I've done it now for what - 40 years?  Got to have my time alone with Jesus in the mornings.  He is the only way I can keep going and not give up.

Do you ever feel like giving up?  Sometimes all you need to do is separate yourself from the rest of the world and shut the door and sit down and be quiet with Jesus.  He will replenish what you need.  If you let Him.  I desperately need replenishing, so I am desperate for Him to be with me.

I'm already tired and the day is starting.  I got to get it together as hubby will want to leave soon.  Maybe I can amuse you tomorrow with some antics from today.  Who knows!  I'm not thinking clearly with the noise about me. I just need a short nap.  I need to crawl up into my Savior's lap and let Him give me what I need.

Pickles! What is it with people and their loud mufflers that they have to make them roar!  It's too early in the morning for that!  Humph!  Gotta go - maybe more tomorrow.  Have a blessed day!

Blessings!
