six days and counting....

Yes - I am counting down the days until Jailbreak Getaway happens!  We leave next Thursday and for some reason, hubby has asked me twice now in the past couple of days, what time do you think you guys will be leaving on Thursday?  And I tell him the same answer - probably around 10AM as we usually have lunch together on the way out of town.  We aren't going far - just to Apache Junction - but getting out of town nevertheless.  My boss' daughter lives in that general area and she is going to get me a list of places for us to visit and things to see.  We already have reservations for the dinner cruise on the steamboat around the lake.  Hubby and I did that several years ago for our anniversary.  It will be fun and I am so looking forward to time away.   Hmmm I wonder if my daughter in love and her daughter and her daughter - if we could do something along those lines.  If they would want to.  I will have to ask.  Even if just for a couple days.  Maybe when it is cooler.  I'll have to look at some places and present it to them. Not sure that they would be interested, but it would be fun.  Then I have another granddaughter that I tried to start it with, then she turned her life upside down and rarely gets in touch with me or even responds.  These young whippersnappers are in their own little world.

My trainer was tough on me last night.  Lots of chest presses and flyes - she was making me press 17.5-pound weights!  Three sets of each!  But I did it, although the last couple she had to help me with as my arms were exhausted.  THEN she had me do push-ups.  Yeah, the one where I can stay on my knees - but even so, three sets of 8 on those and by the third set there wasn't much strength left in my arms.  But I love the workouts.  I really feel I am building great strength in my arms and legs - much more than what I had with Trayden.  Morgan really works me.  And I'm glad.  Now you know I can be competitive at times, but hubby is cracking me up.  He was bragging he was leg pressing 180 pounds last week; what he didn't know was that I was too, so I wasn't impressed.  I mentioned that Morgan put two 90-pound weights on each side of the leg press for me so guess I was doing 180 as well.  Yesterday he informed me he pressed over 300 pounds.  I just went really?  He explained, yeah, 180 on the weights, and the metal thing we press up is 110 pounds so .... (math has never been a good subject for either of us).  I asked one of the guys last night how much that press weighed, and he looked it up - only 90 pounds.  So we both have been pressing 270 pounds, right?  180 + 90 = 270.  I told Morgan last night - and she tells hubby all the time how strong I am.. (haha)... and you watch her up my weights on Monday!  I should learn to keep my mouth shut!  Right?

Yesterday was fairly busy until late afternoon then it wasn't so busy with work.  Haven't checked to see how many messages I have yet today.  I do know that today I am going to 'sneak out' a couple times - I have combo boxes to pick up sometime this morning if I can get away for about 45 minutes and then I need to leave about 12:30PM and head over to Vitalant as I am scheduled to donate blood at 1:15PM.  I'll be back online by about 2:30PM I figure.  Just got another reminder on my phone that I have an appointment today.  Got to fill out that 'fast-track' thing so that it will save me time today.

I hear our neighbors out in their courtyard this morning.  They work on it in the early morning hours and it is really looking nice.  I have already thought about moving things around in ours - and hubby says we can do it in the early morning.... but not this morning of course. Which is fine.  I don't want to do it when our neighbors are doing theirs. :-)  It's not a competition.  I just like my privacy and doing things my way. Don't need to get into conversations about it.  I am so frustrated that a lot of the plants I bought this spring are already dead or are dying.  I blame it on the watering... but hubby made sure to tell me yesterday that he was talking to the landscaper (who I feel is worthless - have your seen our front yard?) and the landscaper had commented that the heat is killing our plants in the back.  I just bit my tongue for it would have been useless to say anything about the watering.  I did sneak out while he was gone a couple times and have watered.  I think I'm just going to look for artificial plants and bushes and stick them in the pots.  At least I won't have to worry about them dying!

Gasp!  I just glanced at my work emails and since I signed off at 4PM - I have 34 messages!  But only a few are mine that I have to do something with.  Whew.  OOPS - hubby is running late today - it's already 6:30AM and he isn't out the door and on his way to his Bible study. He's int he bathroom so I am sure he is about ready to go.  Not that I'm rushing him out the door. LOL  FINALLY - he came in to tell me bye.... I commented he was late today and he responded with so and so wasn't going to be there today (who he met early there) so no need to rush.  Whatever. :-)

Nothing really planned for the weekend that I know of  - other than church, of course.  Maybe I'll get energetic (or not) and start working through my list of things I want to get cleaned up.  Sitting here looking at this bed that I have started to put things on again.  That would be a good place to start, right?  I have 4 purses setting on the bed.  One that I carry for church, one that I carry if I need one with more space, my shoulder purse that I carry when I'm just out running around, and the other is for when I don't want to carry the others.  I COULD put them all in my closet, right?  But then I'd have to find space in there.  I really DO need to clean it out.  I'm lazy. I confess. That and I don't want someone looking over my shoulder at what I'm doing.  Over the years I have discovered that I have gotten VERY private in some things I do.  Mainly because I am questioned all the time.  You think I'm kidding?  Nearly every day I am asked at some point throughout the day....."have you talked to any of the kids today?  grandchildren?  Did you receive a text? "  Or any other way of communication!  If they contact me and tell me something he needs to know, I tell him.  But every single day of being asked questions if my children or grandchildren called or text'd me is driving me crazy!  And he wonders why sometimes I 'withhold' information until he needs to be told!

Ok - I'm rambling so I'm going to hush.  Scripture hasn't come to mind this morning cause I haven't been able to just sit and be still.  So I'll hush.  Maybe I'll be smarter tomorrow. :-) One can hope.

Blessings!
