Gotta get things done today!

This week is flying by, you think?  I had really hoped I could take some time off for ME... not that I had anything planned.... but with 3 of those I support off this week, I really hoped I could have some time for me.  BUT, it just didn't happen.  Today one boss comes back to work, but after we chat, she will be busy with her own things.  I did get equipment ordered yesterday for a new employee starting in a couple weeks, but that was about it.  I have meet and greets to schedule for two people with about 20 people, I think.  I'll get things done by the end of the week.  Yesterday was just super busy with having to take on another leader who was not only off this week, but her EA was as well.  I can see her calendar so got to schedule the meetings.  Whoo Hoo.

I got my running around done yesterday too - and my DIL got her car worked on, my neighbor Ms. Amy, got taken to the heart doctor and I guess I could say I got out of the house!  We did go to church last night for what is called 'Refuel' - which is a prayer meeting.  Our group wanted to meet there a few minutes before it started and pray together, then stay for the church prayer meeting.  Lots of prayer, but not what I expected.  What is it that people think the music should be so LOUD.  Actually, even in capital letters, I could enlarge the word.  That's the way it is on Sunday mornings as well.  Hubby doesn't even wear his hearing aids on Sunday mornings as he can hear the music and the preaching easily enough.  Does THAT tell you how loud things can be?

We got home later than expected last night because the prayer meeting ran over about 30 minutes.  Then, when we got home, we sat up for about 1/2 hour to unwind.  Even though we really didn't get to bed THAT late, I couldn't stay awake again this morning.  Should be able to get to bed on time tonight so hopefully can get back 'together' in my quiet time and not fall asleep but get all the reading done I want.

I started in the book of Mark this morning in my Bible.  Did you know that it is believed that Mark was the first one who wrote one of the Gospels?  (The Gospels being Matthew Mark Luke and John)  He wasn't even a disciple!  He was probably a teenager who fell in love with Jesus and His passion, death, and resurrection.  He also was present with the birth of the church, and the church gathered at his mother's house - and it is very possible on the day of Pentecost, where Peter and John prayed for boldness, it was in this house the whole room was shaken, filled with the Holy Spirit and everyone spoke in tongues.  Mark is also known as 'John Mark'.  This young man traveled with Peter and Paul on some of their missionary journeys.

Mark 1:35 (NKJV):  "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed."

This scripture of Mark 1:35 is why I do what I do each morning.  Jesus got up very early in the morning, while it was still dark, and went off by Himself to a solitary place, where He prayed.    I don't get to leave the house, but I do get up early in the morning, and I come into my own 'solitary place', which is the 2nd bedroom (aka my office) and get away by myself to spend time with Jesus and with my Heavenly Father, and with the Holy Spirit.  Yeah, they are Three in One.  Also known as the 'Trinity', although that word is not found in the Bible.

I was reading about that some this morning as well.  Did you know that the Father is God, and God is Jesus and God is the Holy Spirit?  I know and believe that, but what I hadn't really thought about, is that Jesus is not God, and the Holy Spirit is not God.  But God is Jesus, and God is the Holy Spirit.  God is the ONE who is the Father - the Three in One.  Confused yet?

It's kind of like - as often used in example - Ice is used to symbolize God.  When melted, the water is used to symbolize Jesus... who is of God.  But if you heat the water up, and there is steam, that symbolizes the Holy Spirit, who is also of God.   When we have Jesus in us, we have ALL.  God the Father with us, Jesus in us, and the Holy Spirit speaking through us.

Your object lesson for today has just been completed.  :-)

I really do love my alone times in the mornings, even though sometimes I do fall asleep.  But I'm comfortable - in the recliner with a shawl over my shoulders, a blanket over my body, a pillow behind my head.... I am snuggled in.  Sometimes it IS hard to stay awake.  But the days that I am able to, I get a lot of reading done and always feel blessed when I'm finished.  The only part I don't like is having to keep an eye on the clock.  Some day I won't have to all the time.  Some people just don't get it - how good it feels to just be with Jesus in the mornings and you don't want to leave.  And when there are responsibilities and other family members that need to be 'taken care of'.... that desire has to be designated to specific times.

Almost time to get the computer turned on for work, but I do have time to write in my journal so will take time for that.  Hope that your day is blessed and that you find yourself to be a blessing to others.

Blessings!
