Where is the time going?

Here it is already Wednesday and we go home tomorrow.  Ms. Vicky txt'd me this morning and told me we should stay a few more days - heat warning at home.  It was 68 degrees here this morning, hubby said, so the thought is there, but no, I'm ready to go home. And as far as I'm concerned, this will be our last 'anniversary getaway'.  It's been ok, don't get me wrong, but hubby 'can't' do anything and although I love to read, if I'm going to pay for a hotel or airbnb, I want to do more than just sit and read, unless I'm alone. Make sense?  We did go to a thrift store yesterday and to Goodwill; even bought a few little things, so in all fairness, we did go 'somewhere'.  Oh - we went to a great Mexican restaurant up here - El Rodeo - and it was good for lunch.  Hubby wanted to go to Fargo Steakhouse tonight, but at Denny's this morning he ordered a T-bone steak and eggs so I'm thinking he doesn't need another steak.  We may just stay in the room as I did bring enough 'snacks' that we can do that. We haven't gone out to dinner yet - just lunch - and that's ok.

I finished a book yesterday that I started on Monday, and I finished a daily one that I have been reading for awhile this morning. Feeling pretty good about that.  I still have another book I brought with me that I have started, and I also brought my kindle for I do have lots of books there as well.  I think I have 35 out of 50 books now for Goodreads.  I love the quiet and sitting outside. I'd be there now but I hear people outside.  That annoys me. LOL It's MY vacation after all, right?  I want quiet and I should be able to get it. One couple brought their dog and it did some barking this morning, but we were already awake.

Not much to write about this morning as we aren't doing anything exciting. We did go to Denny's for breakfast and that was a hoot.  The one guy doing it all - Bradley - was welcoming, sitting, taking orders, serving, and doing it all but cooking.  There was only one or two people there when we got there about 7AM, but he said in two hours it would be packed. By the time we left, it was half full - and he was still the only one doing all but the cooking.  Had one person doing the cooking, but he was quick and the food was good.  When I handed Bradley the tip (we always try to pay in cash for the tip), he was thankful - and quickly put it in his wallet, stating, "Thank you so much!  I really needed this today!" Whatever that could mean.  Hubby paid with his debit card the bill.   Bradley certainly entertained us with his words of "morning, love" and "these are fabulous deals on this card" as he passed the menus out.  I was truly amused and enjoyed listening to him talk to others.  He was always respectful (called me 'Ms.!") and told several as they finished, "God bless you, have an awesome day!"   One lady asked if they gave senior discounts; he said "no, love, we can't because the deal you are getting on the meal cuts the discount out." So funny.

The bed has been fairly comfortable and we have slept well.  I still struggle with awakening at 4AM and not being able to get up because hubby is sleeping until 6AM.  And we still go to bed at 8:30PM! I toss and turn and doze for the next two hours until he finally wakes up and I can get up. Again, I'm thinking an airbnb may be the better choice SHOULD we go anywhere again. I love my space, and I don't have much of it here.

And with that, I will hush my ramblings and get off here. Nothing going on. No place hubby wants to go. We hit the thrift store and goodwill near here yesterday. Neither had much.  Neither of us are much in adventuring, but it would have been nice to take one of the paths just outside the city and do a trail walk.  At least I know when I go on Jailbreak, we try to do it.  I have to keep moving; don't want to get 'old'.  I actually did some stretching exercises this morning for I am getting flabby after nearly a week without working out! Got to work on it when I get home.

Have a good day!

Blessings!

The week is going fast... somewhat....

It hasn't been an overly busy week thus far, but it has been busy at times - mainly with my having to create meetings - and even worse, work on a 20+ group of people and try to schedule it when most can attend.  I did get it scheduled - only for one of the doctors that is critical email back and say he is off that day.  UGH.  So I sent an email to two people I can't see their calendars and had responded tentative to review a couple other dates - and I am still waiting to hear back from them so that I can move this meeting.  Otherwise I may just move it anyway.

It's been an interesting start of the year - in some ways.  Hubby has been sick with what we are hoping was a cold.  He did go to the urgent care last night to be tested for COVID as I have heard this latest virus comes in the form of a cold.  Just to be sure.  And, I've kept him home from two of his men's bible studies just in case as well.  He ran a fever Monday evening that was over 100, which is another reason we wanted him tested.  Is this just a cold or something else.  He wasn't coughing as much yesterday and didn't sound near as congested.  Thank you Musinex and Olive Leaf Extract and Black Elderberry Syrup!  The doctor checked his lungs last night and said they were clear - which is a good sign too.  We'll find out in a couple days about the test, but am pretty confident it was just a cold.  He is rarely coughing this morning and I only heard him once when he woke up.  I got out yesterday to pick up a couple prescriptions for him at the drugstore he had called in, but other than that, we haven't been anywhere, which is odd  But that is ok too.  He's actually feeling well enough now he was talking about mopping the kitchen floor... BUT... we didn't have anything to put in the mop he said.  So I ordered some to be sure he could 'get it done'.  I thought that was nice of me. :-)

I've managed to get a couple notes written off and put in the mail this morning.  I've gotten so bad about sending notes, although I wish I did do it more often.  Maybe that could be a goal for this year?   So what goals have you made?

I reminded a friend who is going through chemotherapy that she is never alone, that God is always with her.  I love Jeremiah 17:14 for that reason.  "Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed.  Save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise."  I have hung on to that verse many times this past year, especially when I was fearful about my own health issues.  It's hard to get older and some things are just out of your control.  I need to get back into my exercises (and I'm working on that) but other than that, all I can do is watch my diet.  We are eating better, which is a good thing.

Not much to share today as all I've been able to do this week is work... haven't much gone anywhere (other than the drugstore) and haven't seen anyone either.  It's been quiet on our homefront.  We haven't even watched movies!  We've gone to bed early - me in a separate bedroom just in case - and I've slept good until last night - about 1AM I work up and could not go back to sleep - until it was time to get up this morning - and I stayed in bed until 4:45AM!  And that was ok.  I need to MOVE so that I will feel more like MOVING.  Truth.  Rather than sit in a chair all day, if I get up and take a short walk, I feel more energized and more focused on doing things.  I have to - otherwise I'm going to start screaming claustrophic here!

Hope your week is going well.

Blessings!
