It's only 5:15AM and here I am. I'm having to cut everything short this morning as I have a 6AM board meeting to attend to. Groan. I've done some reading, and I've done some praying, and here I am trying to write in here 'some'... and then I need to get dressed and ready for the board meeting. I'm not usually on camera, but the first time I don't put clothes on and comb my hair (not worried about makeup), will be the time I will be told to turn my camera on. So I am just preparing myself for the day.
It looks like my meter is back to syncing - 104 on the glucose this morning. I guess eating some of that butterfinger homemade ice cream last night didn't affect it. But ten, there is no granulated sugar in it. In fact, it was real simple to make - whole mile, a can of condensed milk, cool whip, and crushed butterfingers. Still a lot of sugar and carbs, yeah.... but it is good and a nice change. Will be glad when it's all gone though. I still have some in a bowl left.
My big brother let me know last night that he has sent me a package for my birthday and it will arrive on Saturday. I've already received my sister's unusual birthday gifts. I don't expect any more. And that is ok; there is nothing I need. It's only a birthday, right? And it's not a 'biggie'. My kids gave me a surprise party last year so definitely won't have that for this 'odd' birthday. And that's ok. In the office I would have celebrated all month.... in fact, tomorrow would have been my lunch party! I miss those days of being in the office and having celebrations and potlucks!
I think my oldest son posted tomorrow night is the 'rider's night' for a meal at the Post. I'm so proud of him for being involved that I want to support him in it. I need to find out what the meal is and if he would be there at the start. It was so nice last month to get in early and have a good meal and his company. The little things mean a lot to me. Some day, perhaps one can look back on these times.
I had to skip my Bible reading this morning so my mind isn't quite functioning, I don't think.
Yesterday wasn't too bad with work. Today is the board meeting and I think I have a meeting at 9AM I want to jump on and listen to. Our 'wellness committee' has a 30 minute presentation about carbs - and I think I can learn something from it. I just can't get rid of this belly fat! Of course eating butterfinger ice cream certainly didn't help, I'm sure. Sigh.
My heart is in anguish this morning and it's not something I can talk about right now. So in saying that, I covet your prayers that I can work through this issue. Please pray specifically that God will answer what I ask, that I seek Him for, and that this situation will take care of itself. I can't go into details; I just don't know what to do or how to deal with this. So I'm asking for prayers. I pray for wisdom and guidance, and for God's intervention and help.
Have you ever thought about how most of us are already past the majority of our lives? How fleeting is our life - didn't someone say that? Ah - here it is...
James 4:14 (NKJV): whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
What are we doing with this time we have left? What am I doing with the time I have left. No one knows when the end is here. At least for me. I'm not sick. I'm healthy. Just fat. I don't think 'fat' will kill me. Right? Just pleasantly plump? Or shall I say, 'fluffy'?
Uh oh - time is gone - got to get the work computer on. Taking too long to think what to write.
Have an awesome day!
Blessings!
