Running behind somewhat....

I'm running behind my routine this morning as I did something with my 'mouse' and I don't like using my finger on the laptop.  For me, it just takes longer to get where I want it to go versus clicking on the link.  And I've been doing some shopping this morning.  Ok, perhaps that is the real reason; doing some last minute looking before moving on.  Got a few things in my cart, but have not hit the buy button yet.

I have nearly everything that has come in already wrapped and under the tree.  I have a few more packages yet to come in - and some I am sure I have forgotten about.  I have got to get more organized and write these things down!!  I thought I was on top of things this year - but alas, I am not.  I have spent more than I wanted to - but then, could it be that my family is just 'large'?  Let's see - 35 family members that get a little something, and then there is hubby, and then there are my friends that I want to give things to - wow.  No wonder I can't stay on a budget!  I'm going to have to think this out next year.  Yes, I did cut back drastically this year.  I really did.  And it looks like I need to do it again.  Handmade items again next year, I guess, cause I didn't do much this year!

I told hubby I need to pull all the gifts out from under the tree and sort out to make sure what I've wrapped for whom and did I wrap something and not write it down.  I still have a few I have nothing for yet - and that is proving unsettling.  Well, some may get something they really don't want - but if they want something different, they need to give me a list!

I love how one grandson and his wife do it - the create a list - break it out in to 'low budget items', 'medium budget items', and 'high budget items' - and list the item they specifically want and the link to find them.  Grateful for Amazon.  LOL  They put 3 or more items under each one, I think.... I only looked at the low budget.  That is my range.   But that helps immensely to get something for them that they can use and not just put on a shelf.

So - with messing with looking at this list and checking items out, and trying to find my mouse (which I still haven't discovered where I put it yesterday), I have only a few minutes before I need to get the work computer going.  It's going to be a busy day as I have a dentist appointment at 10AM (groan, I hate these appointments, even for cleanings!) and then I want to go by the post office and drop off the rest of these packages - which I still need to finish putting things in and tape up and address!  I think I have about 5 boxes to ship out this morning.  Actually, none HAVE to go today; but I want to get them in the mail.  Will see how the morning goes before I leave - I may have to put them off for today or go later today.

I did get over to see Ms. Diane last night for about an hour.  She's doing well.  Ms. Amy's son, Joe, text'd me last night that the condo is 'now on the market'.  Oh joy.  I hope we get good neighbors.  I like Joe, he is the only one who has been appreciative of my seeing after his mother when she lived here.  One of the daughters, Maria, sorta kinda appreciated it - but the older sister was just rude.  I told you about her before.

This weekend is busy - we have a joint 'heart crew' breakfast at church tomorrow from 8-10AM, then I have a lunch with my MCP friends at Wildflower at 11AM.   I had the lunch scheduled first, but since they made this a joint one, figured I ought to go.  And I need to make sure I get pickles and bread put together for the doctors and friends I will be meeting up with for lunch - it's my Christmas gift to them.  Dr. Krauss usually brings me a flower that requires no water.  You've seen them at Home Depot.  They are cool.  I think Frys has them too.  I gave one to Ms. Amy last year - and when she moved, she gave it to me - it eventually 'died', I thought - but on a whim I planted it in a pot out front - and would you believe it is growing green leaves??  I haven't checked lately, but wouldn't it be a hoot if it bloomed?  I would have to tell Dr. K about it!

John 14:6 (NKJV):  "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.""

Powerful statement, don't you think?  And yet, it holds all the truth you need to know.   I think of this statement often.  Jesus is our Advocate and when we seek Him first, He will intercede to our Heavenly Father on our behalf.  Isn't that great?  Think of it in this term... although for some of you it may be hard.

If I was sick, and not able to take care of myself.  I would want one of my children to fight on my behalf to get me the care that I need.  I would want one of my children to stand up for me.

Hmmm, maybe that isn't a good example cause God isn't sick and Jesus don't have to fight for Him.... but Jesus will go to battle for us when we run to Him and ask Him to intercede for us to the Father to bring healing and wholeness, or to provide for what is needed.

And Jesus does just that.  When my boys were in to drugs, I did battle on their behalf, fasting and praying and calling out to Jesus to intercede on their behalf to break the hold the drugs had on them.  And He answered.  Now we 'fight' another battle, but another story for another day.  But I hope you get what I'm trying to say.  Let's run to Jesus and ask Him to take our problem, our situation to His Father, and get us the answer we seek.  It's not always yes, but sometimes no, and even sometimes 'not right now'.    I've seen the 'not right now' response in prayers for a granddaughter's request... now I have to pray that she will accept that response and still love Jesus.  We don't always get things when we want them.

And with that.... I got to go - uh oh - it's 7AM and I need to shut this down and get on the work computer.  Have an amazing day!

Blessings!
