I passed the tests -

I had the two tests yesterday morning and I passed.  Never was 'worried', but when the radiologist came in after the ultrasound was done, and wanted to do another ultrasound, I was curious what she was looking for.  Well, I guess she couldn't find what she thought was there for I got the paper that I was ok.  I love that the radiologist will give you the results BEFORE you leave, so that any concerns could be erased.  I didn't have any concerns to start with and am grateful all came out well.  Until next year, I don't need to go back, unless something 'pops' up.  I think I have a lab work in another couple months to check out the increased medication and new iron pill that I'm on - to make sure all is well.  Then the dentist cleaning in December - and I think I'm then good for the year. :-)  Yay me.

I also got my days mixed up yesterday.  Housecleaning is scheduled this morning - and for some reason I was thinking it was yesterday.  I hurried around and picked up my things and put them away and cleared off some of the floor in here so that they could run the sweeper - only to realize yesterday was Wednesday and not Thursday.  Need to pick up my yarn again in the front room, but not anything to do in here today.  Well, for them.  I still need to clean off my desk.  I tell them to just leave it alone; don't dust it (as if they could find an open space on it to dust).  I need to sort out the many papers on the desk.  Most are medical receipts or donation receipts, I think.  A lot will be mail that hubby brought in to me and I didn't get past glancing at it and hope of looking at it later. Later never comes.  And don't forget the catalogs from Christian Distributors, O & H Danish, and others.  Like, I do need to just throw those away.  Maybe after they clean. I could say this weekend, but you know I don't get near the desk on weekends; it is work related.

My trainer worked by butt last night.  Well, what I mean is, she made me work out hard.  It was leg day cause I had her switch legs and arms due to my hip pain earlier in the week. (BTW it seems to be fine now, but the bug bites itch still, but look like they are going away)  I had made my mind up that I wouldn't make faces and I would go in to the gym with energy and excitement about working out.  I made myself get mentally ready for a good workout.  So what does Morgan do to me?

I get to stand on a very large tractor tire and do squats with a 45 kettle bell. Yes, I gave her 'the look' that makes her laugh.  It's one of 'you are kidding me, right?' and she laughs at me.  From there it was put a large weight between my feet, then stretch out one leg and with the other foot, drag the weight to the other foot.  Back and forth.  Three sets of both of those exercises.  THEN, it was the 'curtsey' - holding weights in both hands, and doing a curtsey pulse - which means get in the curtsey mode and pulse those legs.  Seems like we did one other exercise but I don't remember what it was.  I took an ibuprofen before bed so I definitely slept last night.  My hips and legs will tell me soon that they didn't like what I did last night. But I could feel it working in the areas that I want worked on.  So it's a good thing, right?

I have another reason I want to lose weight by working out.  Not sure if I had mentioned it, but my sister is taking the shots with the diabetic med that is the rage right now so that she can lose weight.  One of the side effects of using it as a weight loss is that she will get droopy skin.  She doesn't care, she said she will go to the gym.  It's been three weeks and she hasn't gone yet.  Me - no shots and I'm working out and I can't lose a pound.  Of course the chocolate no bake bars that I finished off yesterday was no help, I'm sure.

Anyway - I enjoy working out, I really do - even when it hurts me and makes me cry.  Yes, Morgan has made me cry twice.  Well, get teary-eyed.  She pushes me not to quit, and I don't.  I may not be as young as I used to be, but she claims that I am stronger than some of the young people that she trains.  And the trainers marvel at hubby and I both, being as old as we are, being in the gym and lifting heavy weights. I can't give up; I don't need huge muscles, I just want to be able to stand and walk and take care of myself twenty-thirty years from now.  That is why I do this.  And I do enjoy it, in spite of my whining.

I order strong metal shelving from Sam's Club yesterday.  Will ask my SIL to come over and put it together for me when it arrives.  I have this area of the garage that I had bought cheap shelves for last year or the year before.  I may have mentioned it already, but the summer heat in the garage caused one shelving to weaken and spill my things on to the ground - and I lost one crockpot and if I can't find the knob on the other, may lose that one too.  I'm hoping it is buried under some things I got stacked out there.  The other 'shelving' had started to fall as well so I took it apart and put in my closet to straighten it up a month or so ago - and my closet is still clean!!  Even the floor!!  So excited.  Putting the shelving in there sure helped with getting things off the floor.  I still need to go through the clothes, but until I get rid of this belly and butt fat, I'm not getting rid of anything. I wore those last year and for the past 5 years and I refuse to buy new, larger, clothes!  Maybe I need to invest in those shapers I see advertised - it looks like a miracle once they put it on - their hips and belly disappears - but my question always is - where does the fat go?  How can they breathe?  So no, I'll workout (just need to watch the food part) and get rid of my belly.  A few years ago my sister sent me something that I wasn't sure what it was.  I opened the box and it is a pilates bar!  And I have an app on my phone already that has pilates on it - maybe I'll try that when I don't go to the gym.  Quit rolling your eyes.  I can make goals, I just don't always carry them out!

I Timothy 4:8 (NKJV):  For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.

I can exercise all I want to get the 'perfect' body, but it will not help me get into heaven.  It takes accepting Jesus as Lord and surrendering my all to Him alone.  It takes living for Jesus and not for the weight room.  It means spending time with Jesus more than I spend in the weight room.  It means reading my Bible and (trying) living a life that honors Christ.  I don't always do any of that well; I stumble just like many of you do.  But I don't give up just because I fail.  I pick myself up, turn myself around, acknowledge my failure, ask for forgiveness and His help, and move on.  He always picks me up and turns me around to follow Him.  He will do it for you too.  All you have to do is ask Him.  He will walk with you all the way, and it will be a choice you will never regret making.  The only regret you will have is that you didn't choose Jesus sooner.

Did you know there are only 69 days until Christmas?  Yeah, I just had to throw that out there.  I've got a good start on my gift giving.  I am really (trying) to cut back this year.  It's not about the gift-giving as much as seeing their faces when they open something they hadn't expected and really love it.  I frequently think of how we surprised the oldest son with golf sandals one year.  Totally caught him off guard.  I think he liked them.  I need more ideas like that.  They all have what they need; I just need to listen better to things they want.  But I love to surprise them now and then with something special.

And with that, I need to get off here and start my day.  Hope that you have an amazing day - mine is full of work and catch-up work cause I didn't get it all done yesterday.  But that's ok. Sometimes I need a break too.  Covering for someone else today as well.  No biggie.  I'm thinking about times I can take off on towards the holidays.  Have a great day!

Blessings!
