Today is the day....

that I go to see Dr. Mark and have my well-being physical.  I can't say that I've been looking forward to it (who ever is looking forward to a physical?), but I have been anticipating this day.  Yes, I'll be taking time off work this morning to go - will 'lose' about 3 hours of work - but that's ok.  Nothing pressing on the agenda at the moment.  Why so much time?  It's about 30-45 minutes or more to get there - depending on time of day and traffic.  The physical itself should not take long, so maybe I won't be gone that long. Oh well. Anyway, it is today and I will finish this and then jump in the shower so I'll smell pretty. :-)

My oldest son is wondering what I'll be fixing for dessert for a VFW gathering - and I like his idea of brownies.  Whether I will ice them or not is another thing, but yes, I will make brownies.  That was one I had thought of too, and I understand the comment about brownies.... although I was also seriously considering white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies.... but those are a special one made usually only at Christmas time.  By the way, I have only received one Love, Mom plate back... and I think it was from the daughter... hmmm does that mean the boys don't want cookies at Christmas time this year?

Ms. Diane was to have gotten moved to another facility yesterday and, alas, I did not call to check on her. I will need to do that today.  I honestly did not think of it last night.  I had a night alone and I watched a movie and read.  It was nice.  The movie?  I am.....Gabriel.   I love that movie, and when I watched it, I cried through it.  Again.  It's on prime video and no charge so go for it.  It is a really good movie.  In fact, I was reading when hubby came home and he wanted to watch it so we watched it (me, again).  Didn't tear up as much this time.  Great movie starring John Schnieder.  Dean Cain is in it too, but honestly, I don't know who he is nor what part he played... but hubby seemed to know.  I just didn't ask.

This is probably going to be really short today for I can't think of anything to write about.  Not that I share much of interest anyway, but I try to be entertaining at times.

I think hubby is more anxious about this doctor visit than I am.  Well, I'm not anxious as nothing is wrong with me.  Other than arthritis in my knuckles, but everyone gets those, right? Especially people who type for a living or work with their hands, right?  I 'think' I'm ok.  Hmm I wonder if he will have my head checked out cause I've had two ocular migraines in the past 4 days and both left me with a bad headache, which hadn't happened before.  I'll have to remember to tell him. It may be nothing to think about right now - the eye specialist said there is nothing to be done. My previous medical doctor didn't seem interested beyond the diagnosis.  (Ironically, I sent a letter to her stating why I was changing doctors, and she has never responded.  Any bets that her staff never let her see it?)

Anyway - hubby is insisting that he go with me.  For one, Dr. Mark has moved to a new office, and although hubby took me the first time a few weeks back, he wants to be sure I can find it so I am to drive today and let Siri direct me.  Granted, once in the office complex, you have to wind around A, B, C, D buildings - but 'it is what it is'.  I think I can find it on my own, but he is so afraid of losing me that he clings to me like a second skin.  Hence my craziness at times.  I know he loves me.  I know he cares about me. But I don't need nor want a second skin, if you know what I mean.  I just want to be me.

Psalm 119:73-74 (NKJV):  Your hands have made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments. Those who fear You will be glad when they see me, Because I have hoped in Your Word.

Have you ever read through the Psalms and found yourself praying the psalms as you go along?  This is one of those that causes you to do that.  His hands fashioned me, O God, that I would also have understanding, that I may learn Your Word and know them.

Colossians 1:9  For this reason, we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

You can pray Colossians this way "Fill me with the knowledge of Your will in all areas of my life."

We all desire wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, do we not?  Oh that I may read His Word and have knowledge and understanding - and great wisdom - on how to apply it to my life!

Following Jesus is the best choice I have ever made in my entire life.  And it will be the best choice you will ever make.  Choose Jesus.  Ask Him to fill you with His wisdom, knowledge and understanding.  All you have to do is .... ask.

Blessings!
