First day of 'diet' plans ..... fail.....

We started out 'sorta' good yesterday.  We had a shake for breakfast.  Hubby had another doctor appointment yesterday and when he came home was extremely frustrated, so we went to Panera for lunch.  He got a hot bowl of soup and a sandwich; me a hot bowl of soup and a salad.  Why the hot soup?  It was raining and it was cold!  Our plan for dinner was another shake.... but.... we got invited out for pizza.... and off we go!  What is it about 'junk food' - or that matter, any food I don't have to cook, is such a draw for us?  We both overate.  There was no control.  Oh well.  Today is a new day.

This morning my computer says it is 49 degrees outside.... and it has been a struggle to stay awake again.  I think we went to bed about an hour later than usual, and just missing that one hour really plays havoc on me.  Seems I have to have at least 7 hours of sleep in order to stay awake when I get up.  Yesterday it was 6 hours.... not sure what it is today, but probably another 6 hours.  And I kept falling asleep.  Now I won't have time to do my usual reading before starting work.  I read my Bible first so that's not a problem.  Well, I try to read my Bible first, when I can keep my eyes open.  Today I did a lot of rereading just to understand what I read.

I'm sorta bummed.  A friend from work had a 'Thirty-one' party and I wanted to help her so I ordered a couple things.  I have to say that I am a bit disappointed in what I received.  One was a couple 'square baskets' in which I thought I could put some things in to organize them and put in the top of my closet, but have come to the realization that they are too small for that.  I have an idea of what I'll do with them, and hope that for what I use them for, they will be reused.  And I'll leave that comment there. :-D  Christmas is coming.  It just maybe part of the packaging.  I wouldn't order from them again, let's just put it that way. Good products, but I don't need them.

Dug out my Christmas wrapping paper yesterday and started wrapping a few gifts.  Actually, only for a couple people as they won't be around for Christmas.  We'll see them at Thanksgiving so our plan is to give them their gifts then, so that we can see them opened.  Now that those are done, I can turn my thoughts to what else I need to buy - which is a lot.  My family has grown and I love it, and I love to give.

I was talking to one of my bosses yesterday (the one who buries me in board meeting stuff), and mentioned that I was not doing the 97 RT miles to the off ice today for the big Team meeting.  But, I told him, I would make the drive in December so that I could bring him his Christmas gift.  He whined that I give him too much (I only gave for his birthday and boss' day - which he didn't expect) and he isn't good at that.  I told him not to worry about it.  I am a giver and what he will more than likely get is what I've always given my bosses.  Although his wife is an excellent baker and cook, I will give him my usual - bread, salsa, and whatever else I can think of.  "Christmas is coming soon!"

John 1:1 (NKJV):  "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made."

I love the above scripture because it shows that Jesus was in the Beginning.  He is the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  See part of the Trinity there?  In Genesis it also talks about the Spirit moving above the earth.  They are truly the 'three in One'.  God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  They are not water-ice-steam as we often say to demonstrate how three can come from the same thing.  They ARE One.

Jesus Christ is eternal; the Word never had a beginning.  He is personal; with God means He enjoys intimate fellowship with the Father. Christ is divine, God in human flesh: the Word was God. He is the creator of the universe: In the beginning. By calling Jesus the Word, John emphasizes that Jesus is the revelation of God.

We often look back at our ancestry and wonder who was 'in the beginning' of our line; what did they do; were they important.  Once we accept Jesus as Lord of our lives, God becomes our Father and our lineage is from Him.  He was in the beginning, and He is the beginning.  Whoo Hoo!

Since I fell back asleep some this morning my time has slipped away.  Maybe I will elaborate on other scriptures another time.  For now, got to get up and get the computer turned on.  It's cold out there!  Stay warm today!

Blessings!
