Sleeping in.....sorta

Not sure what is going on this morning.  Woke up about 3:45AM with a headache.  Went back to sleep; woke up at 4:30AM so got up and came into my room.  Fell back to sleep for about 15-20 minutes.  Read a little, fell back to sleep for another 15-20 minutes.  Hubby brought in coffee.  Fell back to sleep for perhaps 1/2 hour - 45 minutes.  I still have my headache, but at least I'm starting to wake up - and it's 7AM.  So glad I don't have to work today.  I guess I needed the extra sleep.  We were in bed by 9:30PM last night so it isn't that we had a late night, and I went right to sleep.  Exhaustion from the week?  I don't know.  The constant dozing and waking up probably kept my headache active.  Now that I'm drinking my coffee, perhaps the caffeine will knock it out.

About 9AM I am going to head outdoors for my 3.1 mile walk that I am doing virtually with my co-workers for the Phoenix Heart Walk.  I even have my red shirt laid out to wear.  If my headache hasn't gone away, I may stay indoors and walk on my treadmill.  But - I plan to get the walk in.  I even got my $250 in donations - which was a surprise.  I don't usually ask for donations - but like us perhaps, some people get told by their financial advisor that they need to donate more so that deductions can be higher.  I know our donations have dropped the past couple of years as I was always giving to walks and things my co-workers were involved in.  Don't have the availability now.  I'm sure I forgot a lot that were cash donations too this past year, and I need to start keeping better track.  You know, keep those receipts where when you are asked to contribute $1 or more to Phoenix Children's Hospital or another good cause and you just say yes.  Those add up too.  Last year I didn't keep my receipts, but have this year. for the most part.  Thus far, anyway.

Keeping receipts.  There is an app called Fetch that my granddaughter told me about.  I had been passing all my receipts to her as she would scan them into this app and could 'earn' rewards from specific products bought.  In December we weren't connecting much and January was even worse for me to pass the receipts on to her (and you know I had a lot by then!), so I finally asked her what the app was and downloaded it myself.  It will only accept receipts from a two week period.  Anyway - you get 25 points for every receipt you add, and if it includes certain products (which I have no clue and am not rushing out to buy for points) you get additional points.  It takes restaurant, gas, grocery - all kinds of receipts.  AND, if anyone wants it and I send them the link, I get 2000 points.  Last month it was 4000 points.  It will even go into your email and look at your amazon orders (you know, the notifications from amazon that you've purchased something) and will give you points for each of those.  January I think I had over 7500 points.  Duh.  Anyway - I have the receipts that I keep in an envelope after 'fetching' (you scan via the app on your phone) and then I can pull out the ones I have 'donated on'.  See - all that just to tell you how I'm keeping my receipts.  Oh - you can earn $$ giftcards if you get a certain about of points.  I haven't gotten there yet.   Each month the points start over.  I probably ought to read up on it and see what and how I actually do earn prizes.   Yeah I know - it's just another way of tracking, right?

I'm thinking of fixing up a batch of my homemade spaghetti sauce.  It's been awhile since I made it.  I've stalled somewhat, because every time I say something about making it, hubby starts talking about the one time he made spaghetti and how good the sauce was.  Thing is, that was years ago, and he didn't follow a recipe; he just put stuff together.  And it was very good, I will admit.  It wasn't 'saucy'; he had it all mixed up in the spaghetti and it was really good.  But..... does it matter if he doesn't remember how he did it?  I keep my sauce separate and can freeze mine.... he mixes his all together... oh I don't know. Maybe he can still make it.  I need to be positive about it.  The longer my sauce marinates together, the better it tastes.  Maybe I will do a run to the store later and just pick up the items.  The more I think about it, the better it sounds.  And I do follow a recipe for this one.  I used to use my big iron skillet with a lid to make it in and it filled the entire skillet to the brim.  But, I don't have the skillet anymore.  And I don't need to make up that much - except I CAN freeze it.  Speaking of spaghetti, there is a restaurant down from us a couple miles we went to and I had GREEK spaghetti one time.  It was actually really good.  They put feta cheese on it, I remember that, but I don't remember what else was different.  But you could really taste it was 'Greek' and not 'Italian' spaghetti.  I'd eat it again.  never heard of Greek spaghetti before.

Back to rambling, I see, so I'm going to close this off.  Tomorrow I may - or may not - be able to add something in the morning... my last speaking engagement of the season at the RV park and we have to be there by 8:30AM so I have to dress up - which takes longer than just pulling on my jeans and a Tshirt for work.

Hope that you have an amazing day!  Enjoy the cooler weather I hear we are to have today. Get out in it and breathe a bit - oh wait - I've heard that those with allergies may not be enjoying the weather as much right now - lots of wind bringing in pollen.  Which reminds me, we discovered what kind of tree is in our front courtyard.  It's a lemon tree.  I had found one fruit on it (cause it is trimmed back to keep it in the courtyard, and wasn't sure it if was lime or lemon) and watched it - it finally turned yellow.  Then a week ago I was walking and saw something on the side of the tree that I hadn't see before.  I looked - and there were two more lemons!  Big ones too!  I hadn't seen those before as the green of the fruit blends in with the leaves.  That was a fun find.  It needs to be trimmed again so will see if we get any next year.

Have a blessed day!
